The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

He posted a pic of his house once, but I forgot what color his front door is.

"...some weirdo who claims to be mystic to rearrange your furniture."

Well, the above is a fairly accurate description of many or most females and one of their favorite activities, I note.

Not me! I move the furniture once, and it stays there. I measure the room before I move in, figure out where the furniture goes, leaving good access to the bookcase. Then it is never moved. Ever.

Hair - You have a fine memory, that was about 3 years ago.

And new fletching is being cut from some of the feathers G'nad gave me from his turkeys.

Why do I get this image of a permanent storm cloud parked over his house?

It's been raining and blowing like hell since last night, but things are starting to look up the last couple hours.

I had the chicken salad...

Mayonnaise in a hot climate? Never...

Mayo is a fantastically rich growth medium for bacteria.

Did you ever see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?

Hero, with Jet Li, was pretty good.

One of those little dark clouds that hover like in cartoons?

Shh.... it's actually Chinese, but don't tell...

Well... that would explain why it didn't work for Yamamoto.

Yamamoto's crew weren't too good with secrets either.

Yup, saw that. Can only manage one Chinese-only movie a year, sadly.

I get annoyed while sitting through movies in Chinese. The language gives me a headache. So it takes me a while to forget that I don't like it. And then I get rewarded with a gorgeous film like Hero.

And another headache.
