Mirkwood? The woodland realm?

Here's one I *think* will be easy...

What do Faramir and Boromir's names mean?

Maybe I only know 'cause I'm...ummm...rather fond of the younger one. I thought it was mentioned in the text, but I can't remember.

Mirkwood? The woodland realm?

Yep. And I don't know what "Boromir" and "Faramir" mean. You nailed me on that one.

What object was the sign of the authority of the Steward of Gondor?

thats like asking what Biffur and Bombur mean.

Alkhin, who is reeling from the sudden image of two dwarves talking like Thurston Howell III "Biffur, dear, would you hand me my Dom Perignon? I feel a sudden urge to act dwarvish"

er...something like that...

Poor Faramir is looking a little stressed. Could you comfort him, Rosie? Maybe bring him a drink and help him relax?

Hey, you're all right, dude!

Faramir means "adequate jewel" and Boromir means "faithful jewel". Yeah. Their father was messed up from the start.

Faramir means "adequate jewel" and Boromir means "faithful jewel".

So they were the family jewels?
