I've been busy moving the Basset Hounds into different runs. Both girls (Sassy Pie and Jessie May) are very pregnant and due very soon, so I needed to seperate them from Baxter (our male Basset). Unfortuantly in the move, Sassy got out and I had to run the length of one field to get her. I carried her back and boy did she weigh a ton! On trying to grab her to stop her getting out, I got a shock from the horse fence which is right by their kennels. OUCH! Right across my bare lower back! I don't want to do that again!
I have my camera ready for when the little ones are born, it is both girls first litter so I just hope that it goes smoothly. The girls are in very good health, but Bassetts are known for problems. Here is a pic of my girls again! (before they were pregnant).

Sit back and relax awhile now before you have more serious pet-related injuries!
Bassett pups are adorable. I look forward to seeing them.

What neat dogs. I love long eared dogs. Choctawsquaw got a hound dog like what was on the Beverly Hillbillies. Her ears are sooo long, she is really cute. And BTW, they named her Emma:). I can't wait to see pictures of their pups. I've never seen a Bassat hound puppy.

Scrolling back looking for something I saw your dog pictures again, I just love that. They look so happy, and goofy:) The one on the left with her ears flying up:) That has to be a classic shot, I'd have to have it printed and framed.
