They stopped here, at my house about 10:00. The horses did fine. They jumped around a little with the ones that had a string of popping sounds. I let Harley and Rusty go to the back of the pasture. Rocky stayed in his stall. The dogs all hid tho:). I found Susie under the bed, I don't know where Nikki was, and Grizzly would come out once in awhile, but take off with the loud ones.

Good morning everyone!
We had a few fireworks in the distnce that lasted about 5 miins. I went out with a flashlight to check on the horses and when I found them in my beam they were both standing side by side looking at the sky! Guess they had an evening out! LOL It didnt seem to spook them or anything. : )
Sally barked once and then settled down and the bassets stayed quiet. All in all a good 4th July.

Here it was constant racket from dark till midnight. The horses were OK in. Homer was just out of sorts whining and shadowing us, even stoned. But the biggest stuff was right before midnight, when I was really tired of it and trying to sleep. Their little finale. The last popping and whistling combo thing went on a good couple of minutes without stopping. If anything is gonna wig the horses out, it's those repeating ones that don't stop.

Well, haven't been on all week because I took Waylon back down to our cabin. It took 2 hours to get him in the trailer from the barn. I could have gotten him in if the barn ladies hadn't come out with a whip and a strap to put around his rear to push him in.

We finally hit the road and got to the cabin and I took a leisurely ride. It was great. My husband marked the trails for me and we had no trouble at all. The next day I spent an hour very patiently going closer and closer to the trailer. He would put his two front feet in and then just stand there!! With a soothing voice and a lot of "good boy"s he finally went in. I did it four times and quit for the night. The next day did it again and he walked right in. It was very rewarding. I was trying to explain to the girls at the barn that I could get him in but it started to rain and they thought they were helping....oh well, it turned out allright. They were shooting fireworks off on the 3rd and Waylon didn't like that at all. He snorted and walked in circles until they stopped. I can't wait to go again.

Will post some pictures when I go down again.
