*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Hey cindydawg, you can come back, it wasn't a snake! : )

mommadooo3, Glad it was only kittens, we have just found places for 4 of ours and are keeping one. (born 15th April on Jacobs birthday). The little one we have kept is pure black and the runt. Deaconjim named him tar baby! LOL We are getting some more chicks this week and hopefully they won't be eaten by predators. We believe we have solved that problem! How is your arm? Was it broken?

Beautiful pictures Frog.

I'm glad your ride went so well after a start like that.

I bet Bluebell will be fine now...usually after the first ride after a long lay off it all comes back to them.

Becky

I thought I would start with a round pen and gradually turn it into an arena. I asked for an indoor one for Christmas but all I got was a "are you crazy?" look. We are going to have a barn raiser in Oct. All yall are welcome to bring your hammers and come down. All the BBQ you can eat!!!! (grin)

We are now hoping to move, so we are not going to move the old barn like we were going to for the horses.

Yeah. He's really watching over them. If they make the LEAST little movement, he gives them that 'chicken mom' cock of the head, and 'coos' to them. And if the bigger cats come too near, he pecks them.

No I didn't which is probably just as well........
Some "breeder" people ship puppies too but, I am not a breeder and could never send a puppy or any other animal by Fed Ex or UPS! That is a sad way to start a life. : (

They are both really nice foals. Hopefully the top one is N/N, he looks like he would do well in the halter circuit. A lot of the time foals born with characteristics will color as they age - some faster and some slower but they usually develop some type of Appaloosa roaning.

If I have my dates right, which I think I do, the 13th of June. However as with any animal, it can be shorter or longer. Baxter tried at a later date with one of the girls, and I didnt see which one it was, because I was too far away, so it may be that one of them is going to be later. Sassy looks smaller than Jessie, but then she is slightly smaller in size anyway. They are both well though and the puppies are moving around quite a lot inside! I am excited and keeping a watchful eye on my girls! : ) I promise photos as soon as they arrive! All you will probably see are ears! LOL
