The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread SIX

*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I had to go back and look at these pictures of the donkey. He is sooooo sweet. That first picture is so nice.

I also was looking at the picture of the mother. I've never noticed hair like that coming out of their ears....

Jenny and Blake were here this evening and we sat outside and watched Blake play in a mud puddle.

This started out him riding thru it on his bike, and progressed to this. I hated to tell him but next week I plan on working on that puddle with the bobcat. It's really deep and my trailer drags a bit going thru it.

Oh, and the main reason I even posted them, was I thought it was cool the way the mud splash showed up in the pictures:)

LOL - looks like fun ;~D Kids ;~D

It is a cool mud splash. It looks like an organism arising out of the mud.
We're gonna settle in with a movie.... talk in the morning!

Good Morning. Very hot and humid. Miserable sleeping weather, which calls for an ICED coffee...

Good morning...

No fireworks yet of any significance... I wonder if they'll start tonight.

Horses are munching their breakfast... :~D

I heard some popping last night. I've been in the house all morning today cleaning house:(. It was reaching critcal mass, needing cleaning, not just picking up. Making good progress, kitchen, laundry room, dining room and living room done.

I think for the 4th we are just going to be doing an outdoor cookout Mon. late afternoon, then go to the fairgrounds in Tulsa to watch fireworks. No little kids around this year, just adults, (well other then maybe JP, and he hasn't reached the fireworks age yet.

I need to mow and clean up the yard too today, but I enjoy doing that.

LOL That's how Jacob and Tommy come in after it has rained, I just strip them to their 'all and nothings' and throw everything, including tennis shoes, regardless of color, in the wash! Then they hit the pool, shower or hot tub depending on How dirty they are. One thing though, the cheshire grins stay on their faces for HOURS! : D

It's 10:40 here and already 86 with humidity at 83%. HOT. Sadly yesterday we lost a puppy. Mom had dragged one outside and it must have got too hot. : (
It was well into the mid 90s yesterday so i brought the puppies from both litters indoors to "cool" and gave them some sugared water, and pepto to those ones that needed it. Seems to have done the trick. : ) I took them back when they got hungry and Moms were fine.
I will do the same today.
I did get to cataloge all the puppies and took lots of photos, do you want me to post some? Or I could send a link.........?

There are loads more!
The white ones, are born pure white. They are "lemon bassets' and over weeks their 'lemon' color comees in. Already you can see splotches of a darker tan on them. they look different hour by hour! : )
