This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I'm catching up on past threads and I see that you haven't gotten your vaccines. I ordered a few goodies from KV vet supply and I'll be dogged if I didn't get it in 2 days. I didn't upgrade shipping, either. I got a new sharps container, I'm so excited.

Before I was 18 I use to travel alot with my parents. One July we were coming through Donner Pass and it was snowing.

Tell your husband and DIL, good job! After 3 or 4 hours in the saddle, it would feel like a job to me. Great pictures too, thanks, I enjoyed them. Is that leopard mare that you showed, the one you just got?

Becky, we got the homeschooling stuff in the post friday evening, well bright and early Saturday a.m the kids were eager beavers to get started. They are loving it! Emmas 6 month work won't last 4 months at this rate! LOL
I am playing teacher and marking everything that they throw at me. One problem thoughm my huge weakness is Math. To me Algebra is a swear word! LOL the problem is that the keys (answers) for the first PACE for Emma didnt come, so I have no clue whether she is getting it right or not, Deaconjim is having to mark that one! LOL
Otherwise I am VERY impressed and once again thank YOU for giding us in that direction. I am very impressed. : D

Good morning - yes the leopard mare at the show is the one we just got. I was really proud of her, she was a nervous wreck with all the people and horses, just wanted to sit in someone's lap. She did a lot better than I had hoped for after being a backyard horse her whole life.
The little nose in the kennel is one of my feral cats - that's their house in the flower bed, and they use it :)
Hopefully, those fires will die out soon. That is so scary.
Is she going to be bred to your stallion? I like her too.
Are there registration issues with her that are an issue with a foal? Doesn't she have lost papers or something? I don't know Appy rules.
This farm is really close to the horse barn fire, a few weeks ago. Sounds like we got some kind of nut running around here. No wonder they had not stated a cause on the horse barn fire. It was suspicious.
I think all the fires here are out now, containment on the last one was Saturday I believe. I don't know about the ones in Southern Nevada.
