This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It was a big surprise when he was banned. His posting was nothing to be upset about, his picture was just a pic of a naked man taken from the back. Nothing showing. I think he got banned because he came back on here. It's a shame.
Sold her at the stock show. She deserved to be "quarter poundered " but A guy bought her for calves.

Not as much of a return but the kids went back to raising pigs and chickens.
Well it's after 11pm and I have some things to finish up before deaconjim gets home. It's been fun chatting but the banning of Cowtown has curdled the night for me.
Who knows, maybe they will have a change of heart....

The first thing I found out when I used a horse to drive/work cattle, my fences and gates were torn down. Then I had to really round up the cows, after the fences and gates were repaired....... The cowboy way does not work for me. : )

There's cow feed that depends on the sex of the cow? That's a new one. A barn that I used to ride at had cows, and they scared the heck out of the horses.

And since he's supposed to be a retread troll, are you allowed to let us know WHAT made him a troll? heh...you can tell us, we're just a bunch of 'horsey' FReepers, not many 'regular' FReepers hang out here, so your reasons will probably stay within this thread.
He may have been a goof-ball, but he wasn't vicious, flame-baiting, or insulting.

There is a blind cow out with the geldings. They get along ok. There are cows and llamas with the horses at our place but they will all be gone soon. As long as they aren't hurting each other I wouldn't mind having a couple with the horses to get them used to them so that they won't be scared of them. No horns though. Just a mom or 2 with babies. I don't know who gets the feed here but it says for cows lactating and weaning or something like that. Cows make me nervous too caz I don't know how dumb or smart they are and how they react yet.
As I said, I put a good word in for you but I'm not gonna fight your fights for you. You and "the boys" know what you need to do:').
I-I-I am frreeezzzing!. We have no hot water. I just had to take a cold shower!
