Why was Leah a princess? Not becauseof Padme, she had ceased to be a princess long before she died. Can anybody help who knows the backstory?
I thought there was some mention of her adoptive family being some type of royalty. But I'm not sure--I was passing popcorn to the kids at the time.
Why didn't Vader go to his wife's funeral? I didn't see him there. Can't be because he was afraid of anyone there.
And how does Vader eventually learn that Luke is his son? No one tells him about the babies. Does he just sense that through the Force?
Princess Leia holds her position as Princess of Alderaan as she is publicly believed to be Bail Organa's natural daughter and heir. Traditionally, the heir of the Alderaan throne also serves in the legislative High Council of Alderaan and a term as Senator of Alderaan. After Alderaan is destroyed she leads the Alderaan survivors to New Alderaan, which is founded after the Galactic Civil War. The Royal House of Alderaan, in the person of Leia Organa Solo and her children, continues to hold sovereignty of both New Alderaan and the Alderaan system. The government on New Alderaan administers their former Alderaan system.
Leia becomes a "princess" because she is the adoptive son of Bail Organa, a member of the Alderaan royal family. The royal family also fills in the role of "Senator" in the Republican (and later the Imperial) Senate. hence, Leia was passed off as the daughter of Bail Organa, a princess.
