What a dump of a movie. Save your money and wait for the DVD. Empire Strikes back is still the best of all 6...but Sith is the best out of Episodes 1 and 2 (althought thats not saying much).

Bad acting, great special effects, no emotion, decent story, numerous plot holes, no punch (its like eating a steak without the A1 sauce), just overall bland.

Anakin: You are so beautiful
Padame: Its only because I am so in love
Anakin: No because I am so in love with you.

I wanted to stab em both. What a joke...I dunno if the actors are so bad or the script and directing are that bad (me thinks its the script and directing).

I will see it, but the last two--and much, but not all, of Jedi--were so weak that I only hope for some cool visuals and that's it.

I think this trilogy was a complete misfire from the start. When he announced a prequel trilogy, I don't think people were that excited--I wasn't. It was one of those forced things--"Don't you want to see where C3PO came from?" Uh, well, NO, actually. "Darth Vader???" Not at all.

One of the most interesting things about the original films is that we came in 1/3 of the way through. It was brilliant--we didn't get the boring backstory, we just dove right into the action--literally, from the first shot.

By the third, though, Lucas was eating up all this "New Mythmaker" crap flung by Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers. His material had built-in mythic resonance, but he started plopping it on top, self-consciously, which is the death of fun. Plus, he didn't like how Kershner directed Empire, made it too dark for his taste. So in three, instead of wookies as originally planned, we got teddy bears; instead of a new threat, we got a rerun of the Death Star; instead of a battle in a lava cave (sound familiar?) we get a scuffle in a boring throne room, and so forth.

Part of this btw is Lucas no longer working with Gary Kurtz, who produced SW and Empire; I read an interview in which he revealed the original plans for Jedi--SO much better. Oh well.

Who cares how these characters came to be? Not me. The Annakin and Padme characters are DRIPS, completely uninteresting and without passion. I think the casting of Annakin ruined any chance this had to be good--does ANYONE look at him and think "Oh yeah, that guy could be Vader someday?" Lucas's idea that "anyone" can grow up to be evil is nice L.A. New Age crap, but it doesn't convince.

I'm seeing it for the spectacle. Maybe someday he'll futz around with it and make the last two watchable.
