Will it snag when you try to open the cd tray and break like the PS2?
they entire new generation of consoles are all coming out with both 1080 down to 480 standard out of the box. It is of course up to developers to take advantage of this.
Even scarier, it can run two HD displays at once (not sure if at full 1080p). Hence, you can have a 32:9 aspect ratio game experience....
PS3....suh-weeeet!!!
LOL, my mom bought a whole crapload of atari games with the gamne itself at a yrad sale last fall. My kids loved it. They played with the old thing on Christmas day, too!
I just want to know when SOCOM 3 comes out...
I don't know about all that, but Half Life 2 looks pretty good on my pc.
...any word on the pricing of these new systems?
The Nintendo also makes use of the IBM Power and Cell processors
You can play games (and could for the past few years) at 1600 by 1200.
Seems PS3 (and so I assume Xbox2) are capable of HDR Lighting.
Sweetness....
PC's can do it... but even on bleeding edge hardware and system specs, it suffers from slowdown and stutter.
MOST of the 'realism' improvement I'm seeing in the 'tech demos' of the hardware come from the HDR lighting, and free use of shadows without regard to slowdown.
Too bad you can't tell which demos are actual gameplay capabilities, and which are just fancy CGI intros and promos (even if they are running in realtime)
I currently have an N64, PS2, XBox, and Gamecube connected thru a switch to a Hi-def TV. Each have their own games I really like.
Hmmm... Waste of a life?.... Well I don't drink or go to bars, I rarely watch TV, love to read, and occasionally indulge myself with a vid game.
My faves for each system are:
PS2 - "Final Fantasy X", SSX, "Gran Turismo 4"
Gamecube - "Legend of Zelda: The Windwalker"
XBox - "Halo", "Halo II", "Fable"
N64 - "Banjo Kazooie", "Mario Kart", "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask"
Just need a couple of video projectors and a pair of screens screens side by side . . . nothing like a 16' wide game of Halo, or Football, or whatever. Even the old Contra games would look friggin awesome that way.
Don't know, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, is coming out in 2 weeks for PC.. mm.
I only got 1 projector and its plenty :)
This is going to cost an arm and a leg, and break a lot of parents 2006 budgets.
Hey, video games increase your IQ!
What? No TurboGfx 16??
