In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
turbid; adj

1.Having sediment or foreign particles stirred up or suspended; muddy: turbid water.
2. Heavy, dark, or dense, as smoke or fog.
3. In a state of turmoil; muddled
Entymology: [Latin turbidus, disordered, from turba, turmoil, probably from Greek turb.]

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Already there!!!!
I abandoned subtlety decades ago when I discovered most people are too thick to get it.
what did we find out from the doc yesterdaY?
Nothing. He hadn't received the results of the May 6 scan so he said he'd get the hospital to fax them over to him and he would call me at home. He didn't call me. My tax dollars at work.
if you are ever seriously ill, we will have to do a WFTD fundraiser for you to get you out of that socialisthellhole for medical care.
I knew a guy in Montreal who needed a bypass operation, and had to wait 6 to 8 months. I asked him what happens if he has a heart attack, and he says they tell him in that case he should get an ambulance and they'll do it right away.
But 90% of Canadians love their "free medical". (Of course, it's not free, but they're too ignorant to know that for the average Canadian family of 4, taxes of all kinds (hidden and not so hidden) take about 55% of their income, not all going to medicare of course, but medicare takes a good chunk of it). They need to get some kind of market forces involved in the medical system, but the ideologues on the left scream bloody murder when that gets suggested.
