What classic science fiction and fantasy books would you like made into movies or miniseries'?

P.K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep". The movie "Blade Runner" merely used some of the character names from the novel.

Not just the trilogy- the whole thing, including Pebble in the Sky and Caves of Steel.

There was already a Russian film of it done a while back; it's on a Region 1 DVD from Image Entertainment.

The Pern series would be great! When I saw LOTR, one of my very first thoughts was that NOW the technology was ready to tackle the dragons.

Ender's Game, of course. Not sure how they can get kids to show the range of emotions necessary, but, hey!

Forever War, absolutely. The libs would love when he comes home after one of his missions and everyone is ~~faggot~~ gay.

The books that Heinlein wrote for Boys Life would be great! Good morals in them, good values, great sub-rosa societal commentary. Remember The Star Beast or Red Planet?

Not mentioned so far, maybe because they'd translate best as children's stories are James Whites Sector General series with their wealth of odd aliens.

Also, good children's movies could be made of Hal Clements Starlight and Mission of Gravity. Good stories about the little guy winning through determination and ingenuity without the big guy being evil.

The one that no one has mentioned has me worried, am I the only one who thought that Greg Bear wrote a GREAT book in The Forge of God? The sequel would be harder to translate because it features so much "slicking", but the story is good.
