Word For The Day, Thursday, May 12, 2005

Thursday, May 12, 2005

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. I’m just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words “as if” can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

ZOIC

Adjective combining form
Pronunciation: Zoic
Etymology: [Greek] (zoicos) Of or pertaining to animals

1) Animal: having an animal mode of existence: animal life and action.
2) Of or relating to a (specified) geological era.

I guess we could say Hobbes1 is a tigerzoic humanoid. So sorry, Tiger. It was a low fast ball.

You can use any root word for the “zoic.” Just make it sound like we know what we’re writing.

Bobby has a Polaroid.

"..so I bopped her in the bean with a rotten tangerine.."
*sigh*

My family uses the term 'bean' as well.
But 'boing' isn't used, it's now 'bonk' due to my nephews, and my stay in uniform.
"Kev Bonkies" referred to bonking some worthy person on the helmet with your helmet.
Shortened form of 'Kevlar bonkies' usually.

I liked your "whacked her honker" too. LOL. And if you all have seen the video of her in the fake wood-paneled basement, talking to her blonde haired friend, you can see from the side view that she definately has had work done--in comparison to that mugshot. Definately. I'll stake the other half of my lunch sandwich on it. And I have a good sandwich today, sprouts and all.

Signed,
Dr. Behave

P.S. Meow. ;-)

Good morning, Miss Slip:

Hobbes is eating the finger paint.
Miss Behave is trading her sprouts.
We were supposed to learn about
The Birds and Bees today
And other Grown Up zoic myths.

Yet, I am confused with tales of MILFs,
Botox and Barney Frank's groping ways,
Smacking honkers, and phrases quaint.
What has all of these to do
With the all important "Revenge Of The Sith"?

Jack Deth~ 05/12/05.
