gran, there is no way to the beach now, at least not within a mile or so. Looking at the beach today, it is absolutely empty. Normally, it is teeming with vacationers this time of the year. I sold my condo a couple of months back so I have sustained no loss. But the current loss of tourism to the economy will be substantial.

I left for two or three of the storms last year and for two this year. As the bridges are closed when wind speeds reach 40mph, it's almost impossible to hang around for last minute changes in the storm track.
