Darksheare~ "Eeeep, sabertoothed squirrel."

sweetliberty ~ Now THAT is a horrifying thought, given the squirrels I have around here.

Does anyone know how to fix bulleting in Word? The whole doc is ok except for two bullets. They either want to stay close together, or be separated by a huge gap. I am trying to separate them by just a single spaced gap. I have clicked on every help panel, tried everything, tried re-typing in clean doc, but these two are cursed. It's about the radical gay agenda - maybe that's why.

have you looked on "tables"? I'm trying to remember where the "bullets" are located on the menu....I have that program at work (hate it) so I can't remember the menu off-hand....have you highlighted the area you want changed and gone to "format" .... (I think next would be table or paragraph or something like that for bullets).

I tried that too, but I'll go try it again - thanks! Word is driving me BONKERS.
I am playing with a dummy doc so I don't mess up the original. I have bullets throughout, and just these two are cursing me.

Yes, thanks for the help. I hate it too. We don't use this at work too much. There always seem to be formatting issues with Word - something mysterious.

do you have the "hidden text" being shown? (i.e., the symbols to show up, like for the paragraph, and spacing symbols, etc.)...that might reveal what commands are hidden/inserted in the area where those two bullets are located.

When an investigation is initiated and a case is opened, it is opened in the county where the child resides with the primary caretaker. If it becomes a foster care case, it is under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court in that county. In this case, the child was placed in foster care and the original plan was to place the child in the temproary custody of one of the grandmothers, who lives here. The parents then moved up here, as did the other grandmother, and WE are the ones that have been providing all the services to the family, including arranging and supervising visits with the child and transporting her (a 6 hour round trip) evey other week. She was then spending those weekends with the grandmother after visiting with the parents.

In a situation like this, our judge would have transferred the case to the jurisdiction of the county where everything was going on, but not this judge. He has a policy of never transferring cases, no matter how inconvenient or cost prohibitive it might be to retain the case. Now, the child is here too, but that county still has a tight-fisted grip on the case and we have the added burden of jumping through more hoops to get this case closed and the little girl back with her parents where she belongs.

No, I don't - I'll go see if I can figure how to turn that on. Thank you!

From what I've seen here, the judges are all very good about keeping things in the proper jurisdiction. In fact, there was a fairly recent case where one of our judges wrote a scathing letter to the judge of another country, criticism him and the social worker from that county for attempting to keep jurisdiction in our county, even though the children had moved to their county (I can't remember all the details, but I believe this was the jist of it). My boss and I were so surprised, as it very unusual for a judge to write this way to another judge, and, apprently, the judge who wrote this is usually more of a mild type (in comparison to others).
