It's going well. I haven't been posting here much of late, though.
My sis-in-law had a baby two weeks ago, so I'm hoping to spend a little more time visiting with her - babies grow up so fast, and I don't want it to be a year before I see the little woofer again. We saw him when he was four days old. What a cutie!

Dancin nekkid and howling at the moon isn't a work of evil last I knew..
But then you have to consider "who is speaking" the above.
"I dream in madness."
Anyway, the guy had confessed...twice. One of my coworkers and I observed the interview...and it was on tape. He was mirandized both times and waived his right to have an attorney present. Now they're saying there is a problem becuase the investigator should have notified his attorney that he was being questioned. Mind you, he hadn't been charged and was already serving time (a whole 19 days) for hitting this little girl in the face hard enough to bruise the entire side of her face....and choking her (trying to keep her quiet while he was doing other things to her). He even walked out at the end of the 19 days because the prosecutor's office was too incompetent to prepare an arrest warrant on rape charges before his release.
His bottom feeder lawyer overheard me in the prosecutor's office and actually had the nerve to follow me out the door to tell me I would be getting subpoenaed for interfering with a criminal investigation....and so would our attorney. I'm like..."yeah, whatever." I am so upset about the possibility of this worthless POS walking away scott free....again...well, I couldn't say on a public forum what I'd like to see happen to him. It'd get me banned for sure. It's a pathetic statement about a country when the "legal" system is more concerned with protecting sex perps from children than protecting children from sex perps.
Awwww.....what a cutie.
I'm sorry, sl.
Did you get to hear the song?
Be comforted........well, be happy the lawyer ain't Mr. Fieger......
Thanks, Nic. It ain't over yet. The dirtbag lawyer requested bail reduction and it was denied. He goes back later in the month. I wish this thing would go to a jury trial. I believe a jury would take his b*lls and shove 'em down his throat.
I really don't know what to say....as I sit here thinking, I work for one of those defense attorneys (court appointed, usually, from the public defender's office)....and I dislike my boss taking on these cases....and, of course, I ask him, why can he not refuse those....how can he feel comfortable taking them (and, of course, I must help him...so the question could easily be turned back on me....and my answer would be the same, I have to eat, too, etc.).
That is not to say, he isn't privately disgusted, or that I am not, either.
Oftentimes, his clients will not admit, even to him, that they have committed the crime(s) with which they are charged....not that that would alter the fact that he must still represent them, to the best of his ability, otherwise, he faces being disbarred if the judge believes he has NOT performed his representation of his client to the best of his abilities.
But you are so right...it seems there is much greater concern with the rights of the accused than with the victim.
The only way this can be changed, I think, is through some kind of legislative reforms....for this is vehicle through which real changes in the laws of civil procedure can be changed and by which attorneys/judges must operate.
But, I'm very sorry, and I'd be just as angry, sl, honestly I would....I'm always glad when the clients he represents, who obviously committed the crime, get convicted.
I worry about you sometimes..........
oh, no.....I forgot....I've been distracted with: black and white movie, terrorist matrix thread, GOP RINO thread, lol....thanks for reminding me...I'll go find that link now and listen (the movie's over, lol).
