He isn't really a behavior problem...exactly. He is more of a "weird" problem. It is like he is from an alien culture. Well, he IS from California. He just doesn't exactly fit in with (no pun intended) the boys down here in the hills, if you know what I mean. It's not like there's anything we can do for him, so basically, until somebody coughs up the money for a bus ticket, or he runs away again, we're stuck with taking care of him as if he were an endangered child.

Are you talking about our friend Nully, or one of your waifs in the hills of the Ozarks?
Sometimes things get cyptic, once you enter the DoorWay.
LOL! But you're kinda cute, in your own special way, and your weirdness is sort of endearing, and at least you don't do boys!
I'm faced with a dilemma. The whole point of writing an affidavit for our purposes, is to make a case for dependency/neglect, which is a case against the parents. This is a case we should have never gotten, but once we had him, we couldn't toss him out, so have to treat it as a dependency/neglect case. So, that puts me in the position of having to make a case for keeping a kid that I don't WANT to keep, and I can make a good case. My affidavits are thorough and convincing, so I basically either have to make the case or write a shotty affidavit. I really hate this, and if this kid isn't on the bus tomorrow, I'm liable to be giving him a piece of my mind. He's one of these who believes "he should be able to do whatever he wants as long as he's not hurting anybody else." Perhaps I should clue him in to how his behavior IS hurting other people and that by monopolizing all of our time (several people for much of 2 days) with trying to arrange him a free ride home, a free bed to sleep in and keep him in peanut butter and fruit , he is taking time and resources away from a kid who might really be in danger. I'm tempted to buy his ticket my own self! It'd save me that much in aggravation!
ROTFL! I can see your confusion. Actually, I'm talking about the California cupcake that turned up here a couple of days ago, and he's not adjusting to Ozark hospitality at all well.
No nose ring.
Carkeek Park..Seattle,WA.
Getting along towards bedtime for me...
So, Goodnight all..Have a good one and be careful...
.....Westy.....
I can't look at this kid long enough to count the nose rings. There's at least two, maybe more. Meanwhile, I just talked to the foster dad who said he's having a hard time keeping him from wearing dresses. He keeps saying he hates Arkansas. Our supervisor was driving him back to the foster home today and pointed out to him that it was only 8 miles from Missouri. LOL!
*snrk*
Maybe someone should mention that San Franasisco pays the homeless $500/month to live there...
her hair is green now?
I thought it was pink
Sweet Dreams Westie
Well, I'm done with my affidavit. I guess I'd better go to bed. There are days when I ask myself, "what the heck was I thinking when I took this job?"
How about Wisconsin?

LOL .. hang in there Libby
Not sure if he has a sense of honor to appeal to.
But it's a shot to try.
Of course, if I remade him in my image, he may go for girls, but be such a girl crazy fiend that he'd be trouble that way too.
/ bad joke
*sigh*
Has he said anything about what he wants to do with his life, any interests besides his weird predilections?
He have any interests that may be able ot be honed into something to further his 'development' in any meaningful way?
(I know, I am asking some pretty hard questions to answer considering! Unless you happen to know that info offhand..)
Hmm, 'as long as he isn't hurting anyone else...'
Perhaps, as you mentioned, you can explain that his current choice of path is hurting others.
Perhaps you may be able ot show him somehow, maybe tell him that it is possible to get him on track, but he's got to decide to be something other than single mindedly selfish.
Might be hard to do considering that he doesn't think he's off track. It's everybody else who doesn't get it. Being the more highly evolved creature that he is, unlike us knuckle dragging troglodytes, he is only willing to give us the benefit of his superior wisdom on his own terms. You know, typical liberal.
Wonderful.
Guess you'll have to show him, somehow, how his behavior is hurting others.
I'd rather just put him on an "uncomfortable" bus back to California and let him be somebody else's problem. Once he's across the state line, I guarantee you he'll never return to Arkansas. I'm sure he thinks he hit a time warp and somehow ended up in the Stone Age.
Hmm.
Would be great if it were possible to do.
