Good lord, that is the largest, strangest-looking excavator I've ever seen. I can't imagine what it's used for- stripmining, perhaps... obviously, from the treads it is driven somewhere.

When I was a young fellow, it was rare to have even a tractor on a building site as a labor-saving device, but now I see all sorts of ( smaller ) exotic heavy equipment- line borers, ditchers, tracked backhoes. It makes you wonder where the money comes from to buy such stuff.
