Lazamataz's Opus: No longer a Republican (Vanity)
Now | Me

Posted on 04/26/2005 7:27:21 AM PDT by Lazamataz

Well, they went and did it.

The Republicans look like they will wimp out, not exercise the so-called Nuclear Option, and Harry Reid will PERMIT two judges to be approved and disapprove four others. Does anyone think for a second the Democrats won't "go nuclear" in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed?

This seals the deal for me. I am a Republican no more. It seems it does not matter if I vote Republican anyways, all I get is more liberalism. I am a man without a political party. I am a conservative without a home.

Between Bushes enthusiastic embrace of illegal immigration, and our party's inability to get even moderately conservative judges approved, what's the freakin' point of voting Republican any more? What's the point of voting? I will get liberalism no matter how I vote. My main issue is guns, and it appears the Democrats have learned their lesson on that one, so it appears I will be safe on the firearms front. Everything else the Republicans stand for, they stand for in word only. They do not seem to want to act. Therefore, I do not seem to want to vote Republican any more.

This is my Opus -- not from Free Republic, but from the Republican party. Even when they have the majority, they surrender.

The Republican Party is the France of politics.

Republicans' spines are like spider silk waving in the wind..............

Spider silk? Bad choice...as it's pound for pound...stronger than steel. Which unfortunately many house elephants aren't..!

This makes no sense...you are still a Republican. It's the others that jumped ship.

Good morning.

Register as a Libertarian, Laz. Most conservatives are libertarian anyway and you get fewer trashcans full of political solicitations in your mailbox.

Well, if the Reps give in, I will probably feel as sick as you do now! (and I have the feeling I will be angry and dissapointed, more like hurt!). And I would want to make these wimps pay somehow...

I will probably just go away for a while... and I don't know the rest. But would hate to let the Rats win, I know that. hmmm.. Good luck

I hear you.

We might as well set up a fund to defeat the RINO's. What's the point in having a majority when the RINO's get bought off, or fall in love with the attention they get for being RINO's in the first place.

I'll take a liberal that doesn't lie about what he/she is over these frcking RINO's and weasels.

Well, you go, True. I guess I don't have as much faith in the GOP as you do.

I doubt the Republican Party is going to be sending you any farewell cards. The party is better off without people who try to destroy it from within by attacking any and every other Republican because they don't agree with you on every issue.

The Republican Party is the France of politics.

I love a good rant that ends with an insult to the French.

Problem is, even with our majority, I'm seeing precious little by way of wins.

I'm with you, Laz. I still vote Republican (lesser of two evils and all that), but I would NEVER give the GOP any of my $$ to waste.

I agree with your premise....

Although....I give them too much money now....and it's not voluntary. And THAT is the rub for me...

And go where? All you will do is seal the deal for libs to have all the power and they will APPOINT, not just veto, judges. You will make Howard Dean very happy. Congrats.

I'm not bolting myself, but how will your scenario be different from what we have now?

It's like all those people saying the US should not invade Iraq because it will make terrorists mad at us. It's not like there's a difference.

Shalom.

My Question to you is this,

Why would you be a Republican in the first place...?

Thats a very silly thing to be.

Jim Jeffords was a republican.

Linc Chafee is a republican.

I am a man without a political party. I am a conservative without a home.

That is where serious people belong.
