Well, they went and did it.
The Republicans look like they will wimp out, not exercise the so-called Nuclear Option, and Harry Reid will PERMIT two judges to be approved and disapprove four others. Does anyone think for a second the Democrats won't "go nuclear" in a heartbeat if the roles were reversed?
This seals the deal for me. I am a Republican no more. It seems it does not matter if I vote Republican anyways, all I get is more liberalism. I am a man without a political party. I am a conservative without a home.
Between Bushes enthusiastic embrace of illegal immigration, and our party's inability to get even moderately conservative judges approved, what's the freakin' point of voting Republican any more? What's the point of voting? I will get liberalism no matter how I vote. My main issue is guns, and it appears the Democrats have learned their lesson on that one, so it appears I will be safe on the firearms front. Everything else the Republicans stand for, they stand for in word only. They do not seem to want to act. Therefore, I do not seem to want to vote Republican any more.
This is my Opus -- not from Free Republic, but from the Republican party. Even when they have the majority, they surrender.
The Republican Party is the France of politics.
If you opus you are suppose to stop posting or you may be showing you are an attention whore.
Seanators = Senators
Given that senario...
I'd...
I'd...
Uh...
You have seen the light and the truth shall set you free :-)
Welcome to the vast growing army of disillusioned conservatives who no longer grovel before the altar of the Republican Party.
i think he's earned it, rook.
If it isn't, it should be a Bushism ;-)
In any case, may I borrow it?
Personally, I chucked it all long ago and joined the Know-Nothing Party.
Political parties, like all human organizations, are composed of individuals. If you do not like the direction the organization is taking, then work to either change the individuals elected to office or work to change their way of thinking.
If Ronald Reagan had not stayed within the organization and worked to change the Republican Party, 1980 would have seen the re-election of Jimmy Carter with a split in the conservative vote just as 1992 saw the election of Bill Clinton with a split conservative vote.
"It's okay if a Jew joins, right?"
A Jewish-American-Indian cross-dressing Pope?!! Sorry, Laz, that's "black smoke" material...
"Only if you are a chick.
Otherwise that would be gay."
You're on. But only if your heels are higher than mine...
Read a little harder, and with more comprehension. I said I was opusing from the REPUBLICAN PARTY, and specifically mentioned it was NOT AN OPUS FROM FREE REPUBLIC.
Hope that helps heaps.
Oh, and HI THERE, Mrs. Smartass PhD. :o)
Bush is NO Ronald Reagan.
I haven't been a republican since Reagan. I am a conservative ... and an original intent Constitutionalist
BTW ... I don't vote for the Republican ... I vote for the whoever has the best chance of beating the Demoncrat ... which most time happens to be the Republican candidate
Do they send you a postage-paid envelope? If they do, write a complaint and mail it back. I gave up on the Pubbies a few years ago. Been voting Libertarian. The Pubbies drove me to it, sorry.
More like much needed venting.
Bush is not running in 2008 or 2012.
My point is that any Party can become whatever its members want it to become as long as they work to accomplish that aim.
I'm gone?
