The parents of Terri Schiavo/Schindler just made an impassioned appeal to Florida Governor Jeb Bush to save their dying daughter. Mrs. Schiavo was obviously tired and spoke in a restrained manner, but her husband, Robert, although looking terribly fatigued, used very strong language and placed much of the blame for his daughter's seven days of "torture" directly on Jeb Bush, blaming him for the inaction that is letting Terri be murdered by a "tyrannical" judiciary.
Mr.Schindler says that the Governor has the power to end their ordeal with a "stroke of the pen" and if he had courage he would do it.

It's not going to happen; Terry is now the face of the ProLife movement in the GOP. Possible
Just as it is possible for the left to use her as the face for Legal Euthanasia

I am not that familiar with the ins and outs of Catholicism, but when I first heard it read on TV, it sounded so -- unseemly to put it in there.
And I was like, why isn't he asking for a de novo?

Um, I beg to differ; he's all over TV claiming it; the cables have all done "introspectives" on him and how he got to be the "voice of the conservative pro-life movement."
He ain't going anywhere.

Whoever is saying this about a supposed Vatican view that Terri would be damned is wrong.Talk to some of the screwballs you've aligned your opinions with.

Your # 50...I agree 100%.......Jeb has done all he can as so many other people. I find it hard to critisize the father and other spokesmen for Terri. This is by any measure heart wrenching.

You have to check your facts before you jump to conclusions. First, I am not entirely sure it was her father who said this. It may have been the family's lawyer. What's the difference? The lawyer who said that is still working to screw up the case in court even to this day. So, given that, Bob Schindler must not have had a problem with David Gibbs' remarks.

That's a bunch of nonsense. Why should he break the law?
The Schindlers are just as guilty of creating this media circus.

FYI, I have lost all respect for Sean Hannity with this 24/7 coverage and his disgusting death watch coverage.

To: Petronski
I agree the "eternal soul" part is not Catholic doctrine. I just meant that they're very devoted Catholics, and that seems to have governed their legal approach. Certainly, the thing they should have concentrated on was Greer's atrocious abuse of evidentiary discretion.
