The parents of Terri Schiavo/Schindler just made an impassioned appeal to Florida Governor Jeb Bush to save their dying daughter. Mrs. Schiavo was obviously tired and spoke in a restrained manner, but her husband, Robert, although looking terribly fatigued, used very strong language and placed much of the blame for his daughter's seven days of "torture" directly on Jeb Bush, blaming him for the inaction that is letting Terri be murdered by a "tyrannical" judiciary.
Mr.Schindler says that the Governor has the power to end their ordeal with a "stroke of the pen" and if he had courage he would do it.

You can't back that up.
True, since I don't believe the archives go back far enough to post your entire history here.

Are you complaining that I am treating you with inadequate deference? No, I'm pointing out that you are engaging in the defense mechanism known as "projection." Look it up.

You ask him. He's the one who made that remark, and I find that remark repugnant. No father would say such a thing to their daughter, particularly in this case.
You have to check your facts before you jump to conclusions. First, I am not entirely sure it was her father who said this. It may have been the family's lawyer. And second, the "condemned to hell" comment was made in regards to asking to be killed (at least as the court has decided she asked) is a mortal sin and very well would condemn Terri to Hell in Catholic theology.
To: BigSkyFreeper
Whoever is saying this about a supposed Vatican view that Terri would be damned is wrong. It's not consistent with the Cathechism, and I'd like to see a quote from the Vatican before I believe ANYONE there would say such a thing. It's crazy.

I must have angered you if you are resorting to playing amateur psychologist. You diagnose my emotional state from a few sentences on a computer screen? who's playing amateur psychologist?
Sorry, no anger involved, it's mostly amusement. I mean really, you come into these threads and act like a mean self-righteous prig, and then when somebody points out your behavior, you act like they think they're God. You either can't see how silly that looks, or you're just out to be a putz on purpose. Either way, I find it amusing, even when you're being cruel to a poor old man. It's like watching the Democrats at work...

LOL re: the West Wing. Maybe someone's thinking Jeb can declare Terri to be a state wildlife refuge. That's the kind of thing "President" Bartlet would do.

I never liked Randall Terry--he always seemed like a media whore and besides, I don't care how pro-life he says he is, killing abortion doctors only makes the movement look bad, and he has come out in support of killing not only the doctors, but the receptionists and anyone else working in the clinics. This is not Christian; it's not pro-life; and it doesn't help save the poor babies or the women who suffer after abortion regret.
I wish the Schindlers would kick Randall Terry to the curb.

You overestimate your wit if you believe I can't tell you off and do other things at the same time. I plan to be at this site until they put me in the ground, so if I'm so intolerable you'd better move on down the road. DU is through the door to your left, that whole "I'm acting like a jerk on purpose but that just means I'm better then you" vibe of yours will fit in nicely there.

Good grief! They actually put that in the filing. Completely inaccurate, and so sad.

I wish the Schindlers would kick Randall Terry to the curb. It's not going to happen; Terry is now the face of the ProLife movement in the GOP.

I appreciate the Schindler's great faith and unswerving devotion to Catholic doctrine, but presenting this to these courts as a freedom of religion issue...major blunder.

He is showing unswerving devotion to what he thinks is Catholic doctrine. Not only does it not belong in the motion, it is an incorrect interpretation of Catholic doctrine. Doubly frustrating.
