He is showing unswerving devotion to what he thinks is Catholic doctrine. Not only does it not belong in the motion, it is an incorrect interpretation of Catholic doctrine. Doubly frustrating.
I agree the "eternal soul" part is not Catholic doctrine. I just meant that they're very devoted Catholics, and that seems to have governed their legal approach. Certainly, the thing they should have concentrated on was Greer's atrocious abuse of evidentiary discretion.
