The parents of Terri Schiavo/Schindler just made an impassioned appeal to Florida Governor Jeb Bush to save their dying daughter. Mrs. Schiavo was obviously tired and spoke in a restrained manner, but her husband, Robert, although looking terribly fatigued, used very strong language and placed much of the blame for his daughter's seven days of "torture" directly on Jeb Bush, blaming him for the inaction that is letting Terri be murdered by a "tyrannical" judiciary.
Mr.Schindler says that the Governor has the power to end their ordeal with a "stroke of the pen" and if he had courage he would do it.
Chad, do you have even the remotest idea of the history of our nation? The Founding Father's broke the laws of England in order to found this constitutional Republic. Your statement is just ahistorical.
Chad, I never claimed it wasn't a constitutional republic. My only claim is that there is a higher law than mans'. Even the founding fathers believed such. In fact, for the first 70 or so years of the republic, courts were cognizant of the natural law. Only since the 20th century has all memory of its existence been erased from judicial mind. Sorry to say, but natural law jurisprudence and thought is not an exclusively Catholic idea. The common law, upon which our nations laws are based, took the natural law into account as well. The constitutional republic that you are crowing about is in fact built upon the natural law or higher law. On whose authority did the founding fathers find the gumption to break the law of their sovereign, the King of England. Natural law. The founding fathers broke the law of England because they believed there was a higher law than mans' law.
Come on back when you have done a little more schooling, Chad.
You mean people are complaining about Roy already?
From what I can gather, everyone acknowledges that the talent on this team is far and away the best in the nation. The only thing they can rationalize for marginal performance is coaching.
But it can't happen here. /sarcasm
Well, they will turn on him in a heartbeat, you know that.
Remember old Dick what's his name, the football coach?
NautiNurse, do you know of where I can go on the board for more discussion on the Villanova game? I'm a HUGE fan, but missed it tonight, and could use the diversion. Thanks.
Carolina football is just a pastime between basketball seasons. Too many of us from Dean Smith's legacy are still around.
Here you go: Heels tiptoe into field of eight
Top seeded North Carolina narrowly slips past Villanova
Villanova played a great game.
Thanks, NN. I was finding NOTHING. Not even over at the "GOP Club." LOL. 'Course my nav skills on the board are still pretty pathetic. Thanks again.
Must be the fact that you are blinded by zealotry... That's why you can't see it.
Somethin' just don't look right, right at the end there. :-(
The 'Great State' (loud guffaws) of Florida (more laughter) is a national embarassment. Corrupt and inept judges are just the tip of the iceberg. Now they are killing innocent, disabled women. From the same place that made obscene 'Gator' hats the laughing stock of comedy films such as 'Big Trouble.'
You can't back that up.
Actually, I'd say based on our last conversation that your personality is at the place where obtuse and pedantic meet, with a (mixed metaphor alert!) a dash of self-righteousness and projection.
Bob Schindler is emotional because he's watching his daughter be murdered over the course of a week or so. Sadly, I wasn't much surprised when you expressed derision for him.
Please don't take this as me questioning your integrity, but I think you need to prove to me that he said it before you condemn him for it, and that it would need to be clear from the content that he was not misspeaking, i.e., sying "Terri" when he meant to say "Michael" or saying "she" when he meant to say "he." If the man thought his daughter deserved to go to hell he wouldn't be planning to take her home and care for her for a decade or so.
I am pleased that I did not disappoint you, holy one.
See, you're treating me as if I'm a "holier than thou" type. That's what I meant about the dash of projection.
Are you complaining that I am treating you with inadequate deference?
