Because Fund was trying to change the subject.

It sure seems like it. I am guessing that they took the wrong angles at this case. The whole religion argument was going nowhere. That is weak at best. I understand the parents religious views (to a point)
But that should not have been argued in these briefs
The lawyers should have stuck with the law

If you allowed yourself to go through the same circus, I would say you have a big problem.

Whether it came from the Schindler's themselves or David Gibbs, the damage is done.

Yeah, I'll get right on that...oh wait, I already did it!
You should understand who you're talking to before you shoot your mouth off.

To be honest, the Schindler's probably feel (rightly) that they have nothing to lose. So, if it takes a bogus religious interpretation or blaming the governor, they'll do what they can to get Terri fed again. They look bad because they look desperate and they look desperate because they are. They really don't care what we think of them.

The Catholic church doesn't talk about particular people being in hell, remembering the parable of the workers, and not knowing what happens to people in their hearts during the dying process. I think this was a statement made in fatigue, desperation, and longing for help.

In the transcript hole_n_one linked to, Matthews said he has experience in the Catholic church because he is one, Chris Matthews is a Ted Kennedy Catholic
I don't think I need to say any thing more

Again, Jeb will do nothing. He wants to sweep everything under a rug hoping it will quietly die like Terri. There will be no autopsy. No criminal investigation. The entire country is angry, in tears, and some people are really upset. Most are upset with your corrupt court system and your wishy washy governor.
Florida simply reminds me of a car chase comedy in the 1970's where Jackie Gleason was a State Trooper . . .

If I know my Hardball, Fund was probably trying to answer a question Matthews made a half-hour before.

If Jeb could do something he would. What about the bad attorneys. I don't hear anyone blaming them

Robert Schindler said that "the governor is responsible for the agony of the past week. He can act. He has the power to act." I was stunned. Then in the next breath he said he's an honorable man and is begging he do the right thing.
I can appreciate the tremendous strain they're under but to point an accusative finger at someone who has done all he can EXCEPT break the law, is really reaching.
