ARe they like an additive to their feed? Where do you get them at?

When I said quiet day here, I meant "here" on the thread:)

It was far from quiet here at my house:)

I played connect 4 and went on a walk with Blake, 7.

JP, 16 months, who has had a stomach virus came up with a rash his mother wanted me to see, and he's been so crabby, we thought if she brought him here it might entertain him a bit and give mom a break:). He was a pretty happy camper mostly, just never wanted to nap.

The rash disappeared after a dose of benedryle.

Speaking of JP's rash. Been so long since I had a young one.

Would a food allergy cause a rash on checkes AND cause the back side of his hands to get very red and puffy looking?

the rash on his checks was odd...start out like in rings, then the whole check got red, then as it faded the rings were visible again then slowly faded. Almost ringworm looking. His hands had no rings but were very very red looking and rather puffy. They were the last to return to normal. None of it seemed itchy to him.

Kristy said he had some of the same on his legs that was on his checks. Can a baby get to much pedialite? That's all he has been drinking since the stomach virus. Will a stomach virus cause a rash?

They're in a powderlike form. It's pretty heavy on the brewer's yeast', I think. (we used to feed brewer's yeast and that's what it looks like and smells like)

You top dress their grain with it. We use 2 scoops for the rescue horse.

Probiotics can be bought at Tractor Supply Company, Quality Farm and Fleet. Probably any place that sells horse supplies. Maybe feed stores. Also, check out your local Ace Hardware. LOL...no kidding! In our area, our local Ace sells it AND other horsey supplies!

Becky, I use probios* which is the brand name and it comes in a tube as a paste, like wormer does.

Each tube is 30g and the directions say for adult horses, 15g at foaling, or following therapy, or during training, transport or digestive upset. Repeat as needed.

It is a microbial product containing a source of live (viable) naturally occuring microorganisms.
