This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I saw a demonstration one time of horse doing that. It was pretty, but definitly different.

It's definately a comfortable, ground-covering gait.
The sun is even shining. Those are dried up holes the horses made when it was so wet. Looks like rocks.
Boy! She sure is pretty and shiny already. Mine are still moth-eaten looking.
She's gorgeous, and she does not have any mule markings at all!
Heh... some of these remedies are definately strange!
I'm off... to get busy on chores and projects. See y'all on a break!
Thanks, we really like her, even thou she is a bratty baby. She didn't have much of a hair coat, when we got her last fall. She is already wearing a size 80 blanket.
I have been to a few of the C&W concerts. Garth, Reba, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson were pretty calm, but a Tim McGraw one was just too much screaming and carrying on. Hard to enjoy it, when it's like that.
She is really nice:)
Lots of muscle definition. I like that.
Becky
And there is always a chance, babies might not inherit the gait. As bad as breeding Appaloosas or any color breed. The chance you take.
I've heard of that one too:)
I just ran into Bixby and got some Off. That should hold me till the brand I like comes in next week.
I'm off to ride Harley now.
Becky
"Bay, is that you?"
Well, aren't they stylin'!
LOL! They always look so funny with those on, but they're a lifesaver when the flys are so bad. What's really funny is when they roll in the mud with one on and fill up the mesh with mud and then they can't see. Goofy horses!
Yeah - they do get them dirty, and I'd think the dirt would just drop in their eyes, which would be particularly irritating. I hose them out frequently.
The yearling size fits pony a lot better than the pony size I bought last year. I had to sew on extra velcro before to get it to fit right, this one's good.
Where do you get playground seed mix? I'm sorry to ask so many questions I just have 10 acres to seed by next week and I know it takes forever for Bermuda to come up. Since you mentioned yours came up so fast, I'd love to learn more about it. (Also, do you know what it's a combination of? Bahia? Bermuda? Whatever?) I assume it's all horse edible, nutritious?
We love burning fire ants. They deserve it. (sweet smile.)
