But that is the point of the show... and the contestants enter into it willingly.

The point of the show is to listen to the contestants sing and base opinions on their singing. The purpose is not to judge the contestants based on brief clips of their reactions to the judges comments. :)

An article in the NY Post just said she had a bad day.
Nothing about a dog dying or her father having cancer.

It's in Friday's NY Post. Sorry, I don't know how to link it.

IMO she was looking for the sympathy vote and got it, because the judge's didn't go after her.

Vonzell was crying
Anthony was good-bye-ing.

In other words, if one wants to judge, based on a contestants 'attitude', so be it. There is more than one type of 'attitude', and they can be ugly, too. ;)

Well then--Vonzelle should go into acting. She can outcry the best of them. Cast her in a remake of "Love Story".

Thanks for offering an example based on your experience. That sure might be what Vonzell is doing.

I don't know, she just doesn't seem like part of the group to me. She's always seemed like an outsider, but I can't put my finger on why it seems that way to me.

Imagine if we took 12 posts of our choice, made by the same person and portrayed that as how that person really is. Can you imagine the flaming that would follow? LOL

I know exactly what you mean. I just had someone pull several of my old posts, all of them out of context and tried to create something that doesn't exist.

I used to think Vonzell wasn't very cute. Her face seemed like it was molded out of clay or something. Kinda like a sculpture that wasn't quite finished. Like they had just smeared clay over a frame or something and hadn't quite gotten to the fine details.

Her looks have grown on me though. But I still think she leaves a lot to be desired as a singer.

Your description of her lacking warmth is good. That's part of what's bothering me. That intangible "not fitting in" thing.

I look for first consistency, and then improvement -- and here's my problem with Carrie and Bo: I haven't seen improvement. They both seem to be coasting on their earlier performances and obvious popularity. In Bo's case, I doubt there is significant room for improvement, which is why he's still an "undiscovered" 29-year old. Carrie, on the other hand, has much more singing talent, but seems to be content with the status quo

Good comments kevkrom.

That's why I liked Anthony so much. He had lots and lots of potential. It was fascinating to see the changes in him each week. He went from a dorky skinny kid to a well muscled, young man, increasing in confidence in the last couple of weeks.

I wish he had been able to get control of his nerves earlier. He would still be in and probably giving Carrie some serious competition. Especially since Carrie hasn't changed a bit.

I was also glad to see your comments about Bo. That's kinda what I have been thinking about him.

I personally think if he had that much potential, he would have been "discovered" by now, given his contacts and experiences. The fact that he hasn't been leads me to think that "that's all there is" to Bo.

I liked seeing the changes in Scott also. He was looking better and it seems that he has some rough edges that could be softened with the right influences.

I wish Anthony had been able to do some of his preferred type of music. I was reading last night that he likes the hot latin music and apparently he can dance to that fairly well according to the things I read. That would have been nice to see. Especially since none of these kids seem to be able to dance. Anthony doing a hot latin number would have been cool. (Maybe a bit strange too, given the fact that he is SUCH a white kid!)

It looks official.

Carrie and Anthony sitting in a tree...

We might have the production that will make AI's producers heads explode in excitement... The Carrie Underwood/Anthony Fedorov Courtship and Music Tour. The possibilities and money to be made are truly endless.

Some girl named Irina was his girlfriend, but he's upgraded. Carrie is one hell of a consolation prize. It might beat out the real prize AI has to offer.

From some Anthony Fedorov site somewhere....

Thank you all for helping me through this trying time. Your love and support makes me feel like all that I have done in the past few months is not in vain. Unfortunately, Hollywood changes people and they forget the people in their lives who have been there from the start. I am not going to explain any further but I am sure that you guys understand me. I don't want to influence anyone with this message but I want you guys to know that without your appreciation and without your acknowledgement of my efforts towards Anthony, I would be lost right now. However, I am not because I know that hundreds of people who visit this site everyday are appreciative of me and love me as much as I love them.

I hope that our friendships were not solely related to Anthony and that I was able to form a bond with you guys personally. If that is the case then I hope we continue to talk to each other and support each other.

I am sorry to dissapoint all of you like this and I am sure you know how dissapointed I must be but you are my strength right now and I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I know that my love and devotion is appreciated by the fans who saw that I was the "devoted and loving" girlfriend.

Thank you so much for everything!

Love,

Irina

I almost think the producers used some kind of mind control to pull this off because it's so completely brilliant-- Mr. And Mrs. White Bread Middle America/Suburbs Singers. They could end up like the von Trapps with blonde-haired singing kids and tour as a group for decades.

Carrie losing it during his final song as the credits roll..

Carrie and Anthony in April...

I meant to reply to you, too on this post of mine:

I figured you'd be interested, too. This Carrie-Anthony thing is gold, Jerry. Gold! It will buy Simon another private jet and probably more.

Things are sort of fuzzy, but it appears so:
"If you could please make sure that the other fans know that I am not writing this because I am jealous or manipulative in any way. I am just scorned and I know that you guys have seen how much I have done and my relationships with all of you. I want you to know the truth." -- Irina Gleyzer, from a Fedorov site

Irina is hot, so Anthony can't go wrong either way, I guess (she's the blonde on the right)...

And then we have Carrie...

The necklace in this photo is from Anthony...

"Underwood said she was given a necklace with a key on it as a good-luck charm from contestant Anthony Federov, who was eliminated from the competition this week." -- Muskogee Phoenix

And the guy who was considered at some point in the past her boyfriend, Drake Clark, hasn't been mentioned in any stories I've read regarding her homecoming to Checotah.

I'm not certain about it, but it seems something is going on, and AI has got to be loving it. Anthony is trying to keep things on the QT based on what I've run across.

And it looks like one of the songs she'll sing Tuesday is Shania's "Man, I Feel Like A Woman." I guess they want her to sing a song she'd be comfortable with and that is sexy.

Well how about that! Looks like my daughter's romance sensor is right on target.

The thing that she saw when she said they were a couple, was actually while they were watching Carrie's audition tape.

Carrie said something to Anthony and it was the way he put his head down and towards her in order to hear her. It was VERY clear then because it was the sort of comfortable body movement/body language thing that couples do instinctively.

I think this is pretty cool and you're right AI has got to be loving it.

Irina seems like the kind of girlfriend he had because they had something in common, not so much because they were desperately in love. I think she's Ukrainian also. They met at some sort of youth club or church youth group if I remember what I read correctly.

I feel really bad for her, to be humiliated that way publicly. Hopefully she knew about it before the "I love you" that Carrie did Wed night.

That would be a terrible way to find out.

After watching them do that group song where they seemed to be paired up, they sound good together and they are very much in sync physically. They moved together very well with that little dance thing.

A duet would be wonderful to see. I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I plan to go to the AI concert when it gets close to me.

Thanks for that information!

Net, I don't know if you got an answer to your question about why Anthony's parents had the shrine thing going.

Anthony nearly died when he was very small. That's when he had the tracheotomy. They were told he probably wouldn't even be able to speak again, much less sing.

That's why I'm so fascinated every time he opens his mouth to sing.

I suppose that's why they are so overjoyed with every achievement of Anthony's.

At the end, when Carrie was crying did you see her mouth 'I love you' to Anthony while he was singing.

When the program opened I thought it looked like they paired Anthony and Carrie up for the Islands in the Stream number, then again in the video, with them both in the back seat of the car.

I remember that stuff from his interview and such. People handle things differently. I know of a couple that lost their only son and they turned his room into a type of shine. This was many years ago so maybe they have finally moved on.

People from the 'old country' do things differently, as well. I say 'old country' because that is what my grandmother had called Lithuania at times. They do things like 'shrines' for good things too. To each their own I guess. I think they see so much death and destruction in some of these areas that I'm willing to cut them some slack. iykwim

I just poked around various places. I found out about the song choice for Tues from Carrie's local paper.
