I'm not sure if Diana writes some of her own songs, but it seems like I heard that she does. I could be wrong though.
You're right on about Kelly. She is a VERY talented young woman.
Wow, you're right about the ratings bonanza if there is actually something going on between Anthony and Carrie. They were so cute during that group song, and when my daughter who is about their age watched the tape later, she said she is SURE there is something going on between them.
Not just from the group song, but also from their body language during the time when they were watching their audition tapes. And then of course, the way Carrie reacted when Anthony was voted off.
It could be a whole other reality show after this one ends!

I was interested to read your post about Vonzell. Last night I mentioned that Vonzell seemed to be a bit of an outsider amongst the group.
I couldn't put my finger on exactly why, but I still see it that way. Do you get that feeling also?

Vonzell seemed to be a bit of an outsider amongst the group. I've never really noticed. But since she doesn't talk at all on Tuesdays, I can see how she might be thought of as something of a prima donna (or diva, as the kids express it nowadays) -- especially if that self-absorbed attitude spills over to the way she behaves toward other people.
The fact of the matter is that Vonzell's recent performances have been among the worst of the group. Only Scott's second song the week he was voted off was worse, in my opinion. Vonzell is not and never has been among the strongest singers. She's pretty, comes across in public as sweet, and there was a period during the season when she was improving week to week. But she flattened out several weeks ago and has actually been going backwards, again in my opinion.
She should go next week for sure unless she pulls out some exceptional performances. And I wish Randy would stop being biased in her favor and start telling the truth. Her songs are not all that difficult -- her singing has been poor.

You're welcome. I almost hate to mention it because I don't want to jinx her (LOL!), but there is some buzz starting that she may get a Grammy nomination this year. Her only real competition so far in solo female pop/AC has been Mariah Carey's new album and Gwen Stefani's rap/pop album. Stefani's CD is being carried solely by one #1 pop/rap hit.
If she wants to distance herself from AI now, I can understand why. The snobs in the industry still consider AI to be nothing more than glorified karaoke.

I wanted to BE her when that show was on. Me too! And I was working at a radio station at the time (in college).

My antenna has been up ever since it was revealed that she "doesn't talk on Mondays" and replies to everyone with a written message. What?! Where did you hear that? I thought she seemed nice (although boring). I didn't know she was a pain in the butt!

I'm not jonny, but I can answer that. They talked about it on the show a couple of weeks ago. I think Ryan brought it up.
It seems like it was the week that they showed the behind the scenes stuff.

You are being a very bad boy The only question is... am I naughty by nature or by nurture? Hopefully the former, as it would reflect less badly on my parents. :)

I absolutely have my favorites too, but I try (with varying degrees of success) to put that aside and judge each week on its own merits. I understand that others may look more at an "overall" picture, with each specific week weighing less than the total picture to date, but it's still a little disheartening to see people gearing up to vote dozens (or hundreds) of times for someone regardless of how well or poorly they do. It's almost as if Carrie (for example) could hum aimlessly and tunelessly in the microphone for 2 minutes, and still have people wearing out the "redial" button.
In my mind, the narrower the field gets, the more consequences there should be for a bad performance (in this respect, even though Vonzelle has been a favorite of mine, I thought she should go this week). I look for first consistency, and then improvement -- and here's my problem with Carrie and Bo: I haven't seen improvement. They both seem to be coasting on their earlier performances and obvious popularity. In Bo's case, I doubt there is significant room for improvement, which is why he's still an "undiscovered" 29-year old. Carrie, on the other hand, has much more singing talent, but seems to be content with the status quo (and I was very much a Carrie fan until she started mailing in peformances and making poor song selections). At this point, unless someone steps it up, I honestly can't say who deserves to win the competition, because each of the remaining contestants is dealing with one or more major problems.
BTW, any negative comments I had about Scott were restricted to his peformance and stage personality.

Thanks for the info. I must've missed that part of the show.
And I know what you're saying about Vonzelle seeming separate from the group. I just took it as Vonzelle being a boring person, but in light of this 'not talking' info, I may have incorrectly assessed her.
Looks like she may be very stand offish and aloof, which explains why she comes off as cardboard, to me. No warmth.
And personally, I don't think she's cute. The only reason I ever pulled for her, was for the very fact that she didn't have much to offer looks-wise, but seemed to come out of her shell as time went on.
If she is a prima donna, she needs to check herself. She could take a page from Latoya or Carrie, who are both beautiful and warm.

Good thing we all are not judged by 12 brief snippets in public.
To: texasflower
Can you imagine having the public forming an opinion of you and your personality, all based upon brief clips and someone else's editing?
Imagine if we took 12 posts of our choice, made by the same person and portrayed that as how that person really is. Can you imagine the flaming that would follow? LOL
To: Netizen
But that is the point of the show... and the contestants enter into it willingly.

I just took it as Vonzelle being a boring person, but in light of this 'not talking' info, I may have incorrectly assessed her. I just wanted to weigh in on this not-talking thing with Vonzelle. I have noticed that several posters see it as a sign of being a prima donna, and I just want to say that IMHO, that one single thing is not enough to label her as a diva. Back in the olden days when I was singing and performing, I had a nice, strong, loud voice, but the least little thing would make me lose it completely. I had allergies, which contributed to the problem, and anytime I was going to be performing, I really had to watch myself. No loud talking, no perfume, certainly no yelling ... I would go even outside and hold my breath while applying hairspray so that I wouldn't breathe in the fumes and mess myself up. So I just want to point out that we don't know why Vonzelle doesn't talk on Tuesdays. Because of my experience, I am giving her the benefit of the doubt.
