"... Constantine .....murdered one of my favorite classics, "My Funny Valentine"."

Oh I disagree. "My Funny Valentine" is also one of my most favorite songs, but it's been done to death by every jazz ballad singer from year 1, and I thought Constantine's rendition was fresh and different.

My only criticism last night outside of Paula's really weird standing ovation for Scott----was the band was so loud it was difficult to hear a couple of the contestants.

"Scott -- No stage presence at all, vocal was OK, as in on-pitch, etc., but like last week, the tone was weak and thin. Not good enough for this competition"

Boy, I just cannot understand why he's still around. How on earth Paula gave him a standing "O" is beyond me. Even Randy said it was a bit "pitch-y". Besides that I just think he's creepy. I mean he never smiles at anything.

Well, that was a painful hour. Most of the songs I had never heard before, and it was just a very odd selection of songs. Anythony was just awful with "Climb Every Mountain." Who advised him to sing that one?? "People who need people"??? Why dredge up that up after all these years? I imagine whoever gets voted off tonight would have been voted off regardless of what was sung. The competition is getting tighter and from here on out, it's probably a crap shoot as to who will leave each week.

Re: TIVO. Love it, love it, love it. However, I DO know what we did without it. We rarely watched TV! We were never home or couldn't remember when certain shows were on. Now there is ALWAYS something to watch, even if it's just old Star Trek re-runs. I also love that I have more control over what my kids watch.

I made it to Constitine and those creepy trying to smooze us at home following the camara eyes and fell asleep.

What is that about?? I know he is trying to look sexy, but he looks like he wants to hack the viewer to peices.

I think Scott is going home tonight. Nadia's dress was stunning.

And who else thinks it's time to do an intervention for Paula?? She needs to lay off the Xanax before the show. She reminds me of the drunk girlfriend in "16 Candles" who got her hair stuck in the door.

My tape ran out halfway through "House" last night! So, what happened?!

In a nutshell,
wifey's condition had to have been transmitted sexually,
hubby knew it wasn't him, wife denied it just before slipping into a coma,
hubby now conflicted...doesn't even want her to recover
if it means she cheated on him,
she starts fading fast...blippy box getting faint...
hubby whispers "Don't die!",
wifey slowly lifts her limp widdle wrist and pats his hand,
she gets better, he gets worse.
Can't live with a cheater, so he walks out on her, then and there.

The young female doctor (from "Stir of Echoes) tries to
talk him out of it, calls him a jerk
( she has a conflicted past herself...married for 6 mo. once, hubby died)
Anyway, show ends with her going to confront the guy
wifey had affair with, to prevent further deadly in'knock'ulations.

Thanks!! What was the condition she had? I know in this show, the first diagnosis isn't always the final dx!

Um, I think it was some kind of African sleeping sickness.
They determined it could only have gotten into her
blood through sex.
The cure was grueling. They had to inject her with
stuff so powerful it would melt a plastic syringe, so
they used glass syringes.
Doc said "This is gonna hurt like hell...good thing she's in a coma."

So the plot thickened...if she DID recover, it meant their
diagnosis was correct.
Apparently it was hubby's voice that brought her back.

She only 'gave up' the name of her paramour once she
was convinced hubby wasn't coming back.
Too bad, so sad. Everybody lost.

As 'plot karma' would have it, they'll probably drag
out the tension as long as possible.
