Jonny, you are so very welcome. It has been great getting to know you and being on this great thread you created.
You've done something that most hosts of a thread this long don't do. You kept up with the entire thread, each time a new person signed on, you made sure to welcome them and everytime someone posted to you, you made sure to acknowledge.
I think everyone felt very welcome here and it's because of you.
I hope you have the best birthday ever!
Oh, and GREAT tagline. :-)
Just stopped by to wish you a Very Happy Birthday. Ah, to be 31 again. Of course, I want to be 31 with my kids the same age they are now (24 & 26). Don't want to go through the teenage years again. Well I hope you did something you really enjoyed today.
When does the next AI season start?
Keith Urban Keeps No. 1 Single With "Making Memories of Us"
By: Craig Shelburne
Country starlet Carrie Underwood isn't the only one benefiting from the American Idol finale. With nearly 30 million viewers tuning in, the Oklahoma hopeful was voted the winner on May 25 after joining Rascal Flatts on their No.1 ballad, "Bless the Broken Road." Enough radio stations programmed the collaboration for a No. 50 debut on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, even though the duet has not been officially released as a single.
The trio's original version of the song had already dropped off the country charts, but the massive exposure boosted sales of their album Feels Like Today by 42 percent, with sales of about 65,000 copies in one week. It moves up one notch to land at No. 2 on Billboard's country albums chart. By the end of the month, the album's sales figures should surpass 2 million copies.
However, that sudden surge couldn't knock Toby Keith's Honkytonk University from the top spot, where it debuted last week. Keith Urban slides up a spot to No. 3 with Be Here. Sugarland ascends to No. 4, their highest position yet, with Twice the Speed of Life. Cowboy Troy's Loco Motive falls three spots to No. 5. The latest albums from Gretchen Wilson, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich, Larry the Cable Guy and Jo Dee Messina complete the Top 10.
...
American Idol champ Carrie Underwood, who twanged her way to the top, will come to Nashville next week to do her first public performances after her win. (Sorry, Bo Bice not included.)
Carrie is going to make quite a splash here: She's gonna be part of many CMA Music Festival week festivities, which is no accident. Carrie has said all along she wants to be a country singer, and her booking agent friends at Creative Artists Agency want to make that happen.
If there's ever a coming-out party, it needs to be Fan Fair," Nashville-based CAA agent John Huie said.
Carrie's first performance will be Wednesday night at the Gaylord Entertainment Center at the taping for the CMT 100 Greatest Duets. She'll sing (with Jamie O'Neal) the Reba McEntire/Linda Davis duet Does He Love You. (Get tix through Ticketmaster.)
Then, Carrie actually will hit the Coliseum stage on opening night Thursday for the CMA Music Festival. Others on the big stage that night include Dolly Parton, Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley. Call 1-800-CMA-FEST (262-3378) or log on to cmafest.com for tix.
Carrie then makes her Opry House debut Friday, June 10, the same night that Trisha Yearwood sings there. Get yer Opry tix at 871-OPRY.
And finally, Carrie likely will end up at some CMA Music Festival autograph booths, but there are no specific plans for that yet.
What a huge opportunity and showcase for Carrie. I would think all of that could catapult her right up to the top couldn't it?
What fanstastic exposure for her!
I'll assume I can find these performances on CMT?
Happy Late in the evening Birthday -- 31 was a wonderful age. Hopefully in the next season of AI I won't have a rush job show up every Tuesday and Wed evening -- made it a real drag -- but please do add me to your TAR ping list.
Happy birthday, jonny! Belated as it is now.
They moved Grand Ole Opry to Great American Country channel. I'm sure CMT will cover some of what Carrie does.
A VERY long time. Probably like 6 years.
LOL, once is never enough :) Thank you for going to all that trouble, Wolfstar. I appreciate it in more ways than I can say.
You know, this just might be my best birthday, due in no small part to you, Tammy, and to all the others that have taken the time to send their greetings. This is definitely a birthday I will never forget!
LOL! Thank you :)
The next AI won't start until January :o
Your name as been added to the TAR list :)
Happy Belated Birthday!!
I hope you had a great birthday weekend!
You're welcome, Jonny, but it's my pleasure. You are a genuine joy to interact with on these threads. You give much more than you receive, whether or not you realize it.
