Yep. Remember how she looked in her AI audition? You knew--no matter what her voice sounded like--she was going to Hollywood.
They are both covers done by fans. I agree that both look great. The 70's-ish one is really neat. It looks like she has the makeup and hair of someone of that era. I don't know if the artist played with that or not.
I was just annoyed that she wasn't smiling in the real cover. She has great teeth and a great smile.
Bo's AI single is #3 and it won't be released until June 21, a full-week after Carrie's release, which is currently resting at #19 (ouch!)
Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" is #10.
The AI4 group CD "Showstoppers" is #30.
Fantasia's "Free Yourself" is #196.
Lt. Dan's band Pray For The Soul Of Betty's CD is #199 (explicit lyrics version) and #1,509 (clean version).
Kelly Clarkson's "Thankful" is #218.
Clay Aiken's "Measure Of A Man" is #740.
Diana DeGarmo's "Blue Skies" is #787.
Josh Gracin's self-titled CD is #1,032.
The AI3 group CD "Greatest Soul Classics" is #1,033.
Tamyra Gray's "The Dreamer" is #2,223.
The AI2 group CD "All Time Classic American Love Songs" is #3,053.
Kimberly Locke's "One Love" is #3,723.
The AI1 group CD "Greatest Moments" is #4,613.
Ruben Studdard's "Soulful" is #6,309 and his latest "I Need An Angel" is #5,178.
William Hung's "Inspiration" is #7,179. (She bangs!)
Carmen Rasmusen's "Carmen" is #8,610.
Justin Guarini's CD is #57,708 (LOL!)
And last (and certainly least), Corey Clark's soon-to-be-released CD is #64,198.
.
For some laughs you might want to read the customer reviews for the AI4 group CD
... Mikalah - God Bless The Child. -2/10. God bless the technology that allows one to skip over a track on a CD because this is absolutely putrid.
ROFLMAO!
Hi, Jonny. The rock sound is even big in country these days.
The thing has been sinking like a stone on the Hits Daily Double and Billboard charts, which are the industry "bible" charts.
Hiya, sweetie....I thought Carrie's single would be doing better than #19....glad to hear that Bo is #3..
Thanks for posting this, Jonny. As mentioned, this was being discussed on the AI boards, but I didn't know how to find the info on Amazon to verify it for us.
There's an interesting article about Carrie on Billboard's home page today. (I'll send you their latest chart updates tomorrow when they come out.) Here's an excerpt of the real news from the article:
Fourth season "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood is eyeing a fall release for her 19 Recordings/Arista debut album. "Right now we're figuring out songs," the 22-year-old Checotah, Okla., native tells Billboard.com. "I know we're going to go in [the studio] very soon. I'm not sure exactly when, but the album should be out this fall."
In the meantime, Underwood's recording of "Inside Your Heaven," written by Andreas Carlsson for "American Idol" and produced by Desmond Child, will receive retail release June 14, backed with a cover of Martina McBride's "Independence Day."
Underwood plans to mainly record country music, but hopes her album will appeal to a broad audience. "I definitely want to stick to my country roots," she says. "There'll be two different audiences involved. There'll be the country people, who are really embracing me right now and standing behind me, and I am so thankful for that. Then there are the people who don't necessarily like country music but watched the show and liked me."
Teaming again with Bice, with whom she performed the modern pop standard "Up Where We Belong" during the finale, is also a possibility. "I would love to," she says. "After our duet on the show, we got a lot of good feedback. I would definitely like to work with him later on. We're completely different genres, so it's not like we're going to be competing against each other at all in the market or anything."
[My note: Does Bo get a say in this, or will Little Miss Winner demand that he work with her again? Just curious. Anyway, after Carrie says that she and Bo won't be competing in the marketplace, Billboard reports the following. Back to the excerpt...]
Recalling a scenario that played out two years ago after Ruben Studdard narrowly won the second "Idol" competition over Clay Aiken, Underwood and Bice will find themselves competing in the retail market later this month. Just a week after Underwood's single is released, Bice will issue a retail version of "Inside Your Heaven" coupled with a cover of the Ides Of March's "Vehicle" via RCA Records. Both contestants sang the song during the final performance episode of the "Idol" season and their respective versions were delivered to U.S. radio stations after the finale. Over the last seven days, Underwood's single has gotten significantly more airplay, receiving more than 300 spins at top 40, country and adult contemporary stations, according to Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. Bice's recording has scored less than 40 spins, the majority on top 40 outlets.
[My note: Reason #1: The "heaven" song is not authentic to Bo's style, but it suits Carrie perfectly. Reason #2: She's the winner of the contest. Reason #3: Record producers "incentivize" radio stations to play their product, meaning that they basically pay to have their stuff played. Again, Carrie's the winner. She gets the big promotion blitz for the first year. Despite the fact that Bo will get a contract, like Clay before him, Bo will have to make it mostly on his own.]
Hey jonny! Sorry I didn't get to be on the thread any last week. What a great ending for AI and thanks so much for the wonderful thread. You did great! If you know of any fun threads out there, please ping me. :) Hope you had a good memorial day.
You're doing TAR? Add me to that ping list too! :) Can you tell I am slowly catching up on this thread? Going backwards.
Well he IS from Alabama after all! :) We have alot of class acts down here! We just act all red-necked to keep the blue bloods out. :)
Hey! How have you been? Missed you last week, but I KNOW you were happy with the results. Honestly I loved Bo but I was glad to see Carrie win.
I like Jasmine Trias and look forward to seeing her album come out.
What about those of us who don't have anything to do from Thursday-Saturday? I don't have much of a life. :)
I take it you aren't a Carrie fan? :-)

It just struck me as funny. Please take this in the spirit of fun I felt when posting it. :-)
EMILY!!!! Hi there!
Do you remember weeks ago I said I would celebrate with you if your 'bama boy won?
Well, I'm sorry that he didn't win, but congratulations to you, Bo and 'bama for his CD doing so well already!
He really seems like a very nice guy and I hope he continues to do well.
He doesn't do my sort of music, but I'll buy his album just to be supportive. :-)
LOL! You're talking about me for sure. :-)
Poor Mikalah..... :-)
All those old rockers reminded me of seeing Ozzie Osborne on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight.
I LOVE that show, BTW.
Anyway, Ozzie was sober, steady and very personable. I had no idea he was so charming.
Granted he does have a foul mouth, but he was very funny.
Yes, she does! Good observation. She really does stand out. That is one photogenic girl!
Her voice reminds me of someone but I can't place it.
Someone on one of those idol message boards that I just searched because of you post said the tentative album cover for her is this...
That "All Girl Band" movie is going to have Hillary Duff in it? That pretty much gets the teeny boppers in the theater doesn't it?
