CAT HAIKU

The air is my friend.
It opens wide when I leap
from couch to book case.

Elegance and grace.
Stretched long from my tail to paws.
To land on a dime.

Hind legs coil and flex.
Faster than the eye can see.
Am I cool, or what?

I see the spot I want
up there. Coil up and push hard.
Land without a sound.

Run and leap. Sail off
the wall. Magazines below.
Sliding way too fast!
