Its actually not allowed in any buildings, except homes and designated hotel rooms. Its really kinda funny... the smoking rooms are all on one floor, and when you get off the elevator there is a big sign warning people that they may be exposed to second hand smoke by being on that floor.
Almost all buildings have signs on the front door saying "Chemicals known to the state of CA to potentially cause cancer exist on these premises."
They've defined "potential cause" down so low that just about every substance is on the list (I think laser toner is one of them) and therefore the signs must be on every building. There are, therefore, useless.
Its sorta like earth here, only sillier.
