Well, even though we weren't familiar with Lladro, we knew it wasn't cheap stuff.
This one was made in 1969 and has been retired. We'll keep it as an investment for Luke.
Oh definitely...never has been cheap stuff! :D
Not a bad idea!
Here he is drawing samples while the boys watch. This is at the effluent end, I think...where it drains out of the wetland. You can't even tell he's poured dye in it!
Cool! Real life science. Sure beats a picture in a textbook!
Yep.
Hey, updated my blog...not too much this time...

Very cool 2J!
You are tooooooo cute! Omigoodness!
When you gotta go, you gotta go!
Evenin' folkses! :-)
Well... Yet another happy monday. :-|
Goin' ta SanFran tomorrow, fer the rest of the week. Woo. Hoo. :-)
LOL, Flora, yes. While I was reading that part I kept wondering why the Navy couldn't ~do something~ to protect him financially. Where I am now, he has Babbington back, and Stephen is trying to figure out the design of the ship.
I think Post Captain is difficult to get into because of the petty intrigues at the beginning. I suppose they are necessary for the story later on, but I could have done without almost 200 pages of pining over a woman who was only a tease at best.
It's even worse than Francis Bacon and the chicken.
I'm going to Ft. Walton Beach tomorrow for a (bored) meeting. But I'm feeling hobbity and don't want to go on any adventures.
I'm not really up for any adventures, either. This is a well-worn path for me down the HQ for a little fleshpressing.
The good news is I'll get to see my new toys down there. We're setting up our first SAN, and its some pretty cool gear.
I don't have to fire anybody, so that's a good thing.
I'll be getting my review while I'm there. Dunno what to think about that. Hopefully it will result in a nice bonus check, but there's just no knowin'...
San Fran, huh? Try not to get any weirdness on you. I envy the sourdough, though.
I *did* see that story. It got me to search around for a little more info on the two boats. It was the real deal, and a really compelling story.
Those guys were *really* lucky that the maneuvering happened to work out that the one boat was able to ram the pirate boat... seems like that really made the difference. Otherwise it would have ended very different, I think.
Fortunately, I don't have to actually go into SF. I just hit SFO and go south toward Palo Alto. Deep in the heart of Silicon Valley. Into the belly of the beast.
Yeah, but just think: you get to go home at the end of the week, and they're stuck there.
