Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I just recommend something with good ankle support... the ground outside the yard is uneven, with some small "ankle rollin' rocks... boots aren't a necessity, but I recommend 'em...

Unless Easter comes a week early in Colorado, I don't see as how she's backin' you up. ;-)Remember, we're looking at the "no white shoes before Easter OR Memorial Day" rule as a sort of guideline, along the lines of the Pirates' Code. ;o)

Good morning!
Man...not having access to e-mail over the weekend makes me feel like I've been away weeks instead of just days. Trying to get back into the swing of things here...
Speaking of fashion...first of all we don't wear Easter dresses until Easter...
And speaking of white shoes...I don't wear 'em since it's sooooo hard to keep 'em clean here what with all the dirt paths and such, so usually I wear black or brown shoes in the winter and sandals in the summer. HOWEVER, I'm supposed to wear white shoes for the wedding, and you know, I can't find them ANYWHERE! That was a good part of what I did this weekend: drove around to various places trying to find a simple pair of white pumps or something along those lines, and they just don't MAKE them, apparently. Closest I could find were some "bone" colored things with a zillion straps and vey high heels. Ick. I'm guessing I may just have to try to find some along the travel route or in Fort Collins before the wedding. Eek!

It was OK...kind of a long trip just because...well, it's a long story. Suffice it to say that I'm the kind of person who is easily exhausted when there's a LOT of talking / discussing / noise / crowds goin' on, so I came back so emotionally exhausted that I walked in the door and started crying, meanwhile Stephen (who feeds off of that kind of activity) was mad at me because I didn't go straight to visit a bunch of friends - Dad was over there. There's a limit to what I can take. Difference between introverts and extroverts, I guess, and while I often wish I was more extroverted...I just ain't.

It was actually a gorgeous day!
I think it's almost kinda sorta spring, at least for a day or two. Only 26 at the moment, but it was close to forty yesterday and should be that again today. And clear and sunny!

Rosie, if you go to a bridal type place, they'll have white shoes. And probably inexpensive ones that are intended to be dyed to match bridesmaid gowns.
To: HairOfTheDog
That's probably a good bet. Only catch is that there aren't places like that here...the only bridal shop I know of closed down.
So...either it'll be another long drive next Saturday (might do that anyway since the brothers have to go somewhere for suits, and I could ride along), OR I'll have to get 'em elsewhere, which might work just fine.
You'd just think EVERYONE would have such a basic thing!
