It's Palm Sunday! You can't wear dark, somber clothing for Palm Sunday! I wore an appropriately green flower-printed white skirt and a short-sleeved green sweater.
And you start wearing white shoes at Eastertide, for church. Wait until after Memorial Day for other uses, but our summer season starts earlier...
It ain't fittin'. It just ain't fittin'.
Otherwise you have a paradox! Most Easter dresses require white shoes, or one that matches the color of the dress. I don't want to have ten pairs of shoes. I really want to have one white, one black, and one pair of day-shoes. But I have to give in and have an off-white pair, an old white pair, and sandals.
I could go barefoot... or in street shoes. Either solutions looks really bad up with the choir.
Well....you have the pair that pinch yer toes.
But they're white and Corin says I can't wear white until Maaaaaay!
You've got two pairs of white shoes?
I can only rate it as the second-most-unpleasant handgun I ever shot. You actually felt the muzzleblast on your face like it was a rocket launcher. And it was still loud, even with ear plugs and ear muffs.
My cadidate for the worst-shooting handgun, ever, goes to the Astra 900. It's a 1930's-vintage straight blowback handgun in 9mm Luger. A locked-breech handgun lengthens and buffers the recoil with its mechanism, but with the Astra all you felt was a sharp smack in the palm of your hand as the slide slammed back, and propelled the rest of the gun into your hand. I gave it back to my buddy after emptying one mag.
On the other hand, it took me 50 rounds of .44 Mag maximum loads before I noticed a problem. The recoil seemed okay, but I noticed blood on the grips. Two of my fingers rubbed the skin off where they touched, and I was bleeding there.
My real payment in pain came the next day, and the week after, when my carpal tunnel pain came back with a vengeance.
Unfortunately, yes. I've had them for years... Mom doesn't like my low-shoe lifestyle and occasionally presents me with a new pair.
They're very different, I admit, but they're both white.
Some people just aren't built for the big bores.
So...you're wearing white shoes through the winter?!
Wow, the old Astra, brings back memories, mid late 60's. Was at a show, fella a 'hugh' pile of them. Gun, holster, extra mag - 20 or bucks IRRC. Neat looking gun. Grip angle was certainly different. I recall a smaller version at the same time. Went for a bit more. Don't see 'um like that now.
Shot a Ruger .44 mag, interesting to say the least. Actually kind of neat with .44 specials. Bought Ruger .357 instead, that was a nice pistol.
No, black shoes during the winter. I have one pair of black, two of white. And sandals, but they're missing.
I bet low-shoes are better to wear while shooting wide bore guns.
I'll be wearing my street shoes at ShootMoot... tripping over my own feet is no way to handle a gun.
Well ShootMoot is after Memorial Day so you could wear the white ones as well.
Only if you're willing to risks massive bodily injury. I should not be allowed to wear dress shoes in public.
But the white ones might go well with the guns.
But not with the sorts of clothes I'll be wearin'. Dresses are for Sunday-go-to-Meeting, not shooting,
Guess we need to find Sunday-Go-To-Shootin' dresses.
