Afternoon All, good progress made on the homework, Gypsygirl got a looong walk, quite nice out now. Couple newdogs in theshire, Golden and not at all sure. Heading out for some BBQ, perhaps some catfish.
OT-purple and white Go K-State. Everymanawildcat. :-)
g'nad; how did work party and shooting party turn out. Didn't hear a thing up here, must be a good sign.
Hair - the horselady ever show?
Uhh...yeah, okay. But my stooopid Tar Heels are still in.
![]() Only one I missed was the Upper-Class Twit of the Year. |
Missed the Upper-Class Twit of the Year, and the last words of the Black Knight.
Picked up the latest copy of Primitive Archer at Borders today, bedtime reading, I guess. Nice artwork on the covers. Guess I'll have to subscribe.
Haven't had a chance for any more bowmaking lately, but all guests these days are subjected these days to a lecture on the subject, along with the chance to shoot my bow in my (now operational) backyard range. With instructions not to shoot high. I stand right next to them to make sure.
X your choice of "these days"
I guessed right on the Beetles question and the Upper-Class-Twit. Missed the Confectioner's question - all of the above. Can't remember the other two I missed but then except for Holy Grail it's been a looooong time since I've seen Monty Python.
Got a start on the garden-ish thing. Miscalculated how much dirt I'd need so I'm going back for more. I may also be planting the bulbs too closely, we'll see.
BC just lost. Got beat by UW-Milwaukee.
Yes, she did... but not till 2:30. I liked her well enough as a person, but she's a real stranger, a real wild card to leave alone in our house for six days. She also has a little toddler without a lick of sense about staying out from under animals, who I'd worry about.
We now have three options:
"Jackie" the yard worker with the toddler who would be willing to stay here, as it turns out, but has no particular skill with the animals. The horses would have to stay out, rain or shine, because the lady has no particular skill catching or moving them.
"Frosty" a paid pet sitter a friend has used, who may be willing, not confirmed yet, and she'd do it for money, she'd come and feed the animals and is skilled, but would not spend any particular time with the dogs. The dogs would be on their own to find their way in and out for six days, which they aren't real good at yet, and the horses would have to stay out, rain or shine.
"Markie" the 17 year old daughter of a FReeper from the Saddle Club, who would do it as a grand adventure. We'd split her airfare, which would be a little more than the pay for the others, but she's a skilled horse person, she'd be here and really provide a lot better quality attention to the animals, including the ability for the horses to be stalled if the weather turns poor.
Ramius, perhaps show this to dad. I'll call in a bit, we're still mulling all this over.
Evenin' everybody...I've OD'd on "Dragostea Din Tei". I should find or form a support group.
Just my two cents, but I'd go with the Freeperling. You'll worry less, I think, and that's worth the extra money if you can afford it.
I agree. And for whatever reason, I trust her more than other strangers. The way I look at it, The FReeper mom is trusting me with her daughter as much as I am trusting the daughter with my stuff.
Exactly. And I'll bet she's more responsible than flake-woman. Where does she live? Time zone differences might make it easy for her to be up early with the horses.
Ohio.
I am just having to do a lot of chuckling and pacing about what seems like such a wild idea to have to fly in a pet sitter so we can go on vacation.
Ok. Just tell her to get the ticket. It's not that weird a thing! You'll be much happier once you make up your mind to do this.
