The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Reinforces the idea that "things cut off with chainsaws cannot always be sewn back on."

same applies to parts shot off...

Quite.

Or ask Hair about the part where you don't grab the blade of a brush hawg to pull it free of the blackberry bushes.

We almost got to call her "Hair of the nine fingers". :-)

Yah know... D-Link has an array of wireless web-enabled security cams that are pretty cool. Coming soon are some that will have IR and/or starlight capability. I have a couple of the video cams at the beach. Can look at the shop/garage and the outside of the house from any of the computers. Can record. Can do motion detect. Kinda nifty, although the software is still kinda lightweight. That will improve, though.

Not even obscenely spendy, either. Stay tuned.

I'd rather personally deliver a .357 mag or .303 armor piecing round thru their engine block... but this might havetuh do...

This way you won't have to put up with the hassle of the local sheriff checking to make sure you were aiming for the car and not the idjits.

The car might be a little harder to hide, no? Bodies you could always feed to the chickens.

car is not a body... yuh cain't convict somebody fer murder over a bullet riddled car... well yuh can on CSI, but not in the real world...besides, there no shortage of abandoned cars in the woods around here...

Then it's too bad the mailbox is so far away. Mailbox-smashing youth grow up to be bad people. Unless they get caught and have some sense beaten into them with their own baseball bats.
