New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Same old, same old.
Sounds really cool, guess it is more of terrarium than an aquarium, high humidity not withstanding.
LSA waves back.
Feeling ok? Just tired, I hope...
They do that? That's amazing, really. Little tiny critters... imagine it from their point of view. "Holy cow! That thing is huge! wait... it's giving me food... hey... this works..."
I can't wait to get pictures of the tank and my hermies to post them.
I know it's not the most exciting topic to cross the Hobbit Hole door, but at least it's not lembas again. LOL!
hehehe...
I think their attitude is more along the lines of...
"It's a giant! Hide! HIDE! Wait...that mist feels nice. OK then, giant. You can spray me, but don't try anything funny or I'll snip the tip of your finger off with my pincher."
They couldn't even break the skin, but I let them think they're intimidating to boost their egos. *smiling*
I trust good people more than I care how experienced they are. - I can give instructions, it's trusting some stranger with my animals and my house that makes me nervous. It ain't much, but it's everything we got!
I think you have some of the more interesting pets among us Hobbit Holers. Certainly I'd be more likely to pick up a tank of hermit crabs than horses or chicken.
When they pinch the end of your finger, then, the only right thing to do is to yelp and withdraw your finger. Makes 'em feel better, like they actually have some control of the situation.
Crab empowerment. :-P
Next we have to see if they like watching Animal Planet.
Hey, it don't matter how much you got. As a matter of fact, the less you have the more valuable it is!
I wish I lived closer, chica. Pet-sitting would be a non-issue if I were there. I'd give my left arm to be able to spend more time with horses. But my neighborhood has become so urban, that the 6 blocks of "horse country" that are left are really in shambles.
You'd love them, Jen. They are really wonderful creatures and downright fascinating to watch.
And cheap to keep too!
HAHAHAHA!!!
I'd be VEY disturbed if I noticed them getting agitated whenever The Crocodile Hunter came on. ;-D
when is sweeps week in yer sitcomgonehorriblywrong...
Eh, bugs and things that remind me of bugs kind of gross me out. Besides, I can barely keep Spidey the spiderplant alive.
Besides I bet Rosie's cats would go nuts.
yeah... but yuh cain't eat hermit crab eggs...
They all line up against the glass... pinchers out goin' snappity-snappity...
But I'd stay clear of the Food channel. I'm not thinkin' that they'd like Emeril all that much. "Bam!!"
Yikes! I don't think cats and crabs would mix well.
Point taken.
betcha could eat the crabs...
