The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

You've asked me this before and I failed to answer...

Well, the answer is, I don't know what the significance is! I remember thinking it seemed meaningful that Peter was totally clueless about the girl having a crush on him, just like Mary Jane was totally clueless about Peter's feelings... but that's it.

I can tell I ~really~ have a job now. Had to stay half an hour late (on a Friday!) to finish working on a project with the boss.

Least I stocked up on adult beverages the other day, gonna need one tonight. I think some pizza, bourbon, and our new South Park DVDs sound like a good plan for tonight.

Evening RM - we really enjoyed your posts on the hermit crabs. Sounds like something really different for an aquarium.

Right now I don't feel so lucky...

But I called my friend Bob and he snagged some lady that's doing yard work for him and put her on with us... She's gonna come by tomorrow. I just feel really out of control of the situation.

Yah, like it a lot. It's a good fit for my current skills, and I'll be learning a lot more.

Gotta start setting up a Google advertising campaign on Monday. They are already going on Yahoo, but had problems with Google and dropped it for a while. Now that I'm around to keep an eye on it...

They're doing just fine. *grin*

Had to spray them down a bit because the humidity in their tank dropped for some reason, but other than that, they're groovy! ;)

Becky finally got over the stomach bug and now it's Alyson's turn. Just in time for the weekend. *sigh*

You could make up something to sound intelligent if you really felt like it...

It's really a lot of fun, osage. I've earned most of their trust and they don't hesitate to come out of their shells when I hold them now.

I tried the tropical fish tank thing and it was just too much for me right now. Crabs are a nice middle ground and I found a great use for my tanks.

I'd love to, sis. Considering you'd trust me with your pets when I've the most time I've ever spent around horses was the few days during WeddingMoot. ~laughing~

Unfortunately, I've got to stay here and tend to sick kids. :-(
