The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Sticklebats. I have to go. Got choir and then am going to the gym.

I don't suppose y'all would consider stopping at 1999 until about midnite EST, would you?

In the 1960s? You're kidding, right? Let's get to a civilized decade... one with internet and no leisure suits...

Now.... we are supposed to wait here for Corin to get back!

Super windy here in tall tree country.... frap falling on the roof of cardboard house is rather unsettling.

Whew. Just killed a few civilizations that were developing in my fridge. Nasty job.

Almost everything I own that's not books is in boxes. It didn't take that many. Four for the kitchen, one for the bathroom, one of generic stuff and one of dragons and candles...

Well, like I said, the books aren't boxed. I've got four-five hundred fiction novels, plus fifty or so technical books and two shelves of manga.

And I have furniture and some electronic crap. And my clothes are in two big plastic bins. But I try to live with as little crap as possible.

It is finished.

Big project at work is done. Data got delivered and briefed today. I'm vey proud of it - it will have a big impact on our troops' ability to kick sandy butt.

It's been a while since I've seen my house in daylight. And now I have time to freep!
