Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, we are finally home, and I am caught up on the thread. Would you believe that I left to get elf-boy at 3:00, and didn't get home till 10:30?
Here is the Relay I bought. It is Silver Pearl, not the Midnight Blue I was driving earlier. Photo from the website:

Hey there... I'm finally here too... looks like they all made a mess and left. :-)
Nice wheels. I don't think I've seen one of those before.

You probably haven't. I have yet to see one on the road, except of course the one I am driving. It's called the Relay. It is technically the same vehicle as the Chevy Uplander - just with a different nose.

Pretty nifty. Looks like it will drive like a small SUV, and those sliding doors are handy.

Oh, vey nice color! Looks similar to the color of our van, especially since I finally went through the car wash to get the salt and grime from the latest snowstorm off of it!

Good morning!
Well...my house is empty. *sniff* I ended up with a lot more stuff out at The House than I intended to have, so I feel like a real loser. Didn't pare things down as much as I planned to - yet, in any case. And it's amazing how much stuff ends up stashed away in corners in a house...things you don't think about until you try to empty it.
Now if we can just all survive the next few weeks! ;-) Complicating matters is that two other brothers are in transition now - we ALL had epiphanies in January and are moving in the next month. One is just moving within CA, but the other is moving back here, so he's coming to scope things out starting on Friday. I THINK he's staying at the brothers' apartment, but if not...it's going to be mighty crowded out at the house...

Don't worry about it Rosie! It is what it is and everyone knows it's not permanent. Enjoy your time at your Dad's without feeling guilty. Just have fun together, since, after the wedding, you won't see him again for a while.

Actually it is about a foot longer than our '97 Explorer. It's front wheel drive, so it does drive pretty smoothly. I am going back to the dealer today so that they can do the professional cleaning and install the "toy box."
My Solara is still at the dealer. They are going to clean it also, cut me a check for the payoff, and I get to take it to the Toyota dealer to turn in. Of course, I don't ~have~ to turn in the Solara today, since I am paying the March payment on it.
(Argh, I left my garage door opener at the Arlington dealership. Gotta make another trip over there, too.)
uh oh, I hear baby cry. (purrr) Where there is baby, there is milk nearby...
