There's one road we used to walk along sometimes when I was little. I think you could build SEVERAL cars with the pieces that had fallen off due to the rough condition of the road...

Yer a psycho, but yer an inspiration to us all.This is the truth! When I was fillin' in that big trench we dug in the back yard (3' wide, 3' deep, 50' long), my back was hurtin', my hands were sore, my arms were achin'...I'd think "What would g'nad do?"
I just kept shoveling. Like to killed me, but I filled that entire trench back in.

Basically, over the course of the winter, water gets into the cracks in the road and under the surface of the pavement, and then since it expands when it freezes, the pavement is pushed up into bumps - some are HUGH by spring. Truly hugh.
