Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Corin, prune pizza sounds like it would do the trick!

Yes, but the point is that I'd just rather not be involved in that whole arena...so to speak...

Hello there!
I'm off. Hubby wants me to bring the boys and eat supper with him. Gonna be a beautiful weekend, so I'm logging off indefinitely.

Up to 16 inches of snow in the next 24 hours.
And tomorrow was supposed to be my big moving day.
*sigh*

I don't know the temp, but if it's OK to eat an egg that has only been boiling for one minute, I'd guess any amount of cooking beyond that time would be sufficient. On med. heat until thickened it likely more than enough.

I love Rice Pudding, but David and I are the only ones who do, and since he's in Texas, I don't usually make it.

Sounds like she thought your house was the house of someone she knew.
Or she could just have been a flake! ;o0

They're saying 4-8" here. Clare and I are supposed to sell Girl Scout Cookies at a local Stop and Shop tomorrow. If the snow gets too heavy, we're gonna bag it. No one will be out at the grocery store in a raging snowstorm. They would have gotten all the toilet paper they need tonight. ;o)

I'm tryin' to make up my mind whether or not to go to the jam tonight. We may get three inches of snow this evening, which isn't much...but it'd make the roads nasty.
The last thing I want is for something bad to happen to poor Van-sama before the trip!

Thanks. I feel muuuuuuuuch better now. ;-)
I wouldn't mind if it wasn't moving day! Why couldn't it wait for Monday? As it is...I just hope we can get everything done. I have a lot of stuff to take to the dump and out to the house.

*whine*. Yeah my David is loving living in Austin. He's really enjoyed the winter there, especially after having been here for a month over Christmas break! He was whining about the heat there last summer though! ;o)

If the van doesn't do well in the snow, I'd suggest just stay home. You can get all the things that need to go to the dump onto the LR, then, if there's a break in the snow tomorrow, and they've plowed the roads, you could get it out to the van and done! Or you could load some of the stuff in the van tonight!

Well, if it's any consolation, we'll probably be getting ready to move ourselves over the next month... lease on the house we're renting is up at the end of April, and the owner wants to sell it. He's willing to sell to us, but the price he named is about $40,000 more than what the house would sell for on the market (we've been watching houses sell in our neighborhood) so probably won't be buying it.

Yeah, we've had a really mild winter this year! Only one snow flurry and a few frosty mornings. It's beautiful out there right now though, and supposed to be this way all weekend.

What's LR?
See, the catch is that I'm SUPPOSED to have some friends who have a truck come and help, as I have to take furniture that won't fit in the van. However, it's a friend of Margaret and Stephen's and it's his Dad's truck. If the roads are bad...no way will he be allowed that. I'll probably beg the dad to help, but I hate havin' to bother people...
Hope it all works out! Everything has gone so well so far, it's a real nuisance that I'm hitting snags now.
I'm still fretting over the dental thing, too. After all...it's not something they can just fill. And if it ends up being something horrible like a root canal that requires followup...eek! Especially as my insurance will run out shortly, and unless I have another job...
