Hello TOH,
I recall reading something early on about a storage unit that Condit rented. I believe it was related to the story about his trip to Luray?
That story was swept under the rug rather quickly. Luray, that is.

Not really. This is all very old news. As far as I know, Condit did not get re-elected in (I think it was) 2002 and is now back living in Modesto. I am not sure whether the D.C. police are still actively investigating Chandra Levy's murder.
There was a ton of traffic on FR at the time and for about a year thereafter. A lot of it was speculation. Other than to deny having anything to do with it, Condit himself said very little.
Maybe we can get at those archives. I'm not sure how long the Robinsons keep them, and I'm not sufficiently awake at the moment to go digging.
With regard to the mini-warehouse, all that is known is that Condit apparently kept one in Luray, Virginia. I don't think it was ever searched. I have a very vague recollection of something about a Harley Davidson motorcycle, so it could be that he kept a motorcycle in there. I don't know.
But it doesn't make sense.
Working off my (questionable) memory, he lived in an apartment somewhere not too far from DuPont Circle. You wouldn't want to keep a motorcycle there -- especially not a Harley. It would be gone the next morning. Okay so far.
Levy's body was found in Rock Creek Park, which is not too far from DuPont Circle and which is very close to where my grandmother lived for 64 years. I know the area quite well.
I currently live in Waynesboro, VA. My daughter has been living in Fairfax, VA, so I have driven back and forth many, many times. Luray is about half way in between. I also own a (Honda) motorcycle. Therefore I can personally relate to a lot of this.
Once you get out of northern VA, there is some wonderful motorcycle country in Virginia. Again, so far so good.
But...
Luray is simply too far from D.C. If you wanted a mini-warehouse for a motorcycle or for any other legitimate reason, you would have it in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax. or someplace closer to where you lived. Manassas maybe. Even Winchester.
The ONLY reason I can think to live near DuPont Circle and to have a mini-warehouse in Luray is if there is something in that mini-warehouse that you don't want anyone else to know about. You don't want anyone who might recognize you to see you coming and going. Luray works for that. It works quite well, in fact.
That is my amateur logic. The situation is odd enough that I wish somebody had stuck their nose in that mini-warehouse -- along with dogs, chemicals, interviews, and the whole nine yards.
I guess there was never enough probable cause.
But my goodness. It's just too weird.
Along with most other people who have posted onto FR threads about this, I think Condit probably killed Levy. At a minimum, I think he had more going on than has ever come to light. I think the mini-warehouse could well have had something to do with something besides a motorcycle.
