This is coming from someone who has been around here almost from the beginning. I was here when the main topic was Whitewater and you could read all the daily posts in a single sitting. I was at the March for Justice rally and I stood outside the VP Mansion, shouting for Gore to GET OUT OF Chaney's HOUSE. When I first signed on to Free Republic everyone made you feel welcomed. People were very friendly and more then willing to help a Newbee learn the ropes. Newbees didn't get the response to their first post, Member since ...?, as if their motives for posting were suspect.
There are people on Free Republic who have that eat your own mentality. They are way to quick launch an attack on someone who makes a mistake in posting or says something they don't agree with. I even sent Jim Rob an E- mail a few years ago complaining about the very things that Sean was talking about yesterday.
I believe we here at Free Republic should take what Sean said to heart. Free Republic has proved to be a powerful force, that has and can continue to bring needed change to this country and hopefully help keep Hilary out of the WH.
In order to win the hearts and mind of others, we need to respect them as people, even if don't agree with everything they have say.
I think you're missing the point. Hannity just pee'd on our leg... he dissed FR, which in turn disses ALL conservative blogs. Salty language and a few whack-jobs doesn't need a public denouncement by a person who has a million listeners... and viewers. Make no mistake, it's a spear aimed at the heart of 'new media'.
It's as if a family member took out an ad about how revolting his brother or sister was. It... it stinks.
Didn't Sean say FReepers "eat their own"?
Didn't he, basicly, do the same thing two days ago?
He's a real FReeper!
I vote Taco!
I guess I'm going to have to break down and find out what's all the fuss about Hannity. I get the impression he said something on his show about FR, and it wasn't very flattering.
Hannity is a bit of eye candy for the ladies and a competent front man for the Republican party; he's got all the talking points down pat. Maybe it's his looks or something but I sort of feel that he's something of a lightweight intellectually and ideologically.
:)
-good times, G.J.P.(Jr.)
I HAVE TO EAT MY OWN! The last time I ate those DUers, they gave me the worst indigestion.
Not I.
ZOT the Hannity-bashers (unless they keep their criticisms civil and constructive).
I like hannity. but I think he's crossed the line and is biting the hands that have helped him. I think we should ask for mhking or someone (maybe even Jim R.) to talk to him personally. either on his radio show or tv.
I love polls. There can never be too many.
I'd like to see a poll on Hannity. I'd also like to see a poll of their favourite radio host.
BTW, buy his book! It is a good read... until... taking some sort of mind-inducing drug. IMOHO
I have listened to this guy since 1998 travelling three hours from PA to NY. He is a phoney. I only listen because he has SMART people on his show as guests.
BTW, Where is his wedding ring? Then figure out why he wears twin Cross pens, and fiddles with a Bic? The man is an empty suit.
Hey, send your fantacy lover an e-mail. You just may get lucky!
I do not listen to talk radio..I wonder why you bother.
If one feels a need to lift up one's own ability, there is no need to belittle and demean another's.
You are not his target audience. Sean has his place and he has done some good things for our cause.
"Hey, send your fantacy lover an e-mail. You just may get lucky"
That remark reveals a lot about you and your "style" of debate.
