*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
That is great news. Take full advantage of the time and enjoy life.
I marvel at all you do now, and I am happy for you that you are getting some relief!
Thankyou. I fel guilty that I cant go on......but i havent had any help at all especially in the last 6 months when she became bedridden and totally dependent for everything. the children have had to take a backburner and Emma has had to become a mom at 10 years old, to the boys.
I feel that i have let james down but he assures me that I have done more for them both than anyone else has or even offered. Its time that those who have put me down and offered no help only advice get to see what intensive care means. Its by no means easy and I dont think they have a clue, I just hope that Mama and Daddy dont suffer in the learning.
I am looking forward to having quality time with everyone and seeing my friends again. : D
We will also be able to go to England for a vacation to see the childrens grandparents and our friends. : D
Well, I think your first responsibility is to your children and your husband. Part of that is not becoming an invalid yourself. One person can only do so much before their health both physical and mental suffers.
Well I am going to head back outside and spend some time with the children before the ambulance arrives.
I have had such a wonderul day it feels like Christmas!
With Tommy in pre-school mornings, it means we can work on finishing up this house for an hour or two and then ride!
Anyone want to buy an almost finished 4000 sq ft house on 10 acres????? I want to escape to the mountains and am looking on landforsale.com with an eager eye! : D
Anybody got 40 acres plus they want to sell???? : D
I'd get lost in that much house, unless I could convert the bottom floor to barn :~D
That would be UM...............different. makes a new meaning of "furnished to suit" LOL ! : D
It'd be easy to go feed on cold mornings ;~D
Before the ambulance arrivies?
I know how you feel about being in a hurry to get out and ride. I almost forgot my saddle this past Saturday in my haste to get on the road. Luckily I just got about a quarter of a mile down the road when I got to wondering whether I'd packed my lunch in my pommel bag, then I realized that I didn't HAVE my pommel bag and that meant I didn't have my saddle coz they're stored in the same place. Duh! I have also run off with my slip-on barn shoes on instead of my riding boots. I went ahead and rode, I just had to be careful when getting off or my shoe would fall off. When I get riding on the brain, I could forget my head if it wasn't glued on.
Whoo Hoo:) Do you think that means it will be tonight?
Becky
Duchess, are you speaking Greek or what??
None of them have the dun stripe or stripes on their legs.
Becky
Great pictures, I'm glad your ride went well. Thunder looks great:)
Becky
I don't think so right now, I'll have to look at her when I get home though. I was thinking Sunday or Monday.
That's all greek to me:)
Becky
Nope, genetic codes. Makes about as much sense as Greek though doesn't it. :0)
Roflol...look at my post a few down. I swear I hadn't read this one first:)
Becky
I feel the same way. I have to read the information, then read it again, and look at the pictures. I'm making a real effort to understand it to increase the chances of getting color on my foals. We'll see, next year if it works.
Well, I personally think you're a Saint and I'm sure James knows he's the luckiest man in the world to have found you. I sure am happy for you that you're all going to get to have some fun now after so much hard work and responsibility! Enjoy!
