The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread FOUR

*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Previous threads:

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread TWO!
The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread THREE!

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

LOL I'm sorry, I meant she was in season for a long time and thus bred over a ten day period.

No calcium today:) We had company. Mack recorded some show about the 40 greatest Nascar moments. Our friend is a nascar fan, so they came, we ate pizza, and watched the show. I'm not big on nascar, but we had a good time.

You bet we're going on a trail ride. I've been planning in my head all kinds of routes:) I just need for the weather to clear up enough to start getting all of us in shape:). And anxiously waiting to hear how many days you'll be here:)???

Becky

That's interesting. Do you breed everyday, or every other?

I don't believe horses have that problem :) Probably pushing it for ten in one day but not one for ten days.

Lots of good stuff on this topic. Bit of advise if you decide to take this further and I welcome eveyone's comments and input on it, too...

You've done the first step - showing him his fault. The next step is to take one or two others with you. If he refuses to listen to them, then take it to the school leadership. He if refuses them then treat him like scum.(Matthew 18: 15-17)

Good morning!

We don't yet know how many days... and to some extent it might depend on whether either of us have new job responsibilities to get back to... but I'd think no matter what we could spend 2-3 days ... more if you aren't tired of us yet! How many days would it take to see all the places you want to show us? :~D

The adminstrator seems like a real charlatin. Allowing stuff like that to be read in the classroom, and then putting "Yours in Christ" as his closing in the letter. Was that material actually taught in the class, or was it just part of the book that the teacher skipped. What's the title, I want to see if I can find it in the library.

If not, go to the media and let all hell break loose.
Now, I agree wth tuffy that she should do all that she can to fight the school, but I think that going to the media might be a bit much if she can't do anything with the administration. You don't want to bite off more than you can chew, and you don't want your kids being ostrasized in school, as going to the media might hurt them in the long run, even though your intentions are good.

Could be the first ever, Official FR Saddle Club Trail Ride.
Hey, that'd be pretty cool. I'd just need a plane ticket and a horse.... :-)

Heehee, you're right. That's not very far. I think 13 hands is as short as I can go, but I'd probably give a go at riding her anyway. :-)
